No one would say that EunHa was a maternal person, she had never wanted children to begin with, so she hadn't been happy eighteen years ago when her ex-husband came home one day with a baby boy, claiming that the child was the son of his younger sister who had just died. She reluctantly agreed, but she didn't enjoy any of it, the baby was fussy and sickly so cried a lot and she had no patience for the child . Things were slightly better as the baby grew older, at least he listened only because she threatened to leave him alone in a dark closet and sometimes did for hours ,EunHa learned that JongSuk was scared of the dark so it was a perfect way to get him to behave. When her husband was home she was the perfect mother, but as soon as he was at work, she basically ignored the toddler. But it wasn't until JongSuk was six years old and JinHo ran off leaving them with a mountain of debt and creditors breathing down their necks or rather her neck demanding she pay them back the money her ex husband owed she started to resent the child she had been forced to raise. She thought of abandoning him and nearly did several times, but she didn't know why she didn't, it wasn't like she actually felt any sort of emotion towards the child, but appearances meant more to her if she abandoned the child everyone would look at her scorn and judge her for being a despicable mother, but if she raised him herself people would admire her for raising someone else's child and they would overlook it anything she did to him, no matter how bad as long as she didn't kill him, because people believe what they're told to believe even if the truth is different from what they've been told
EunHa turned on the tv in the hotel room they had managed to find it was in the outskirts of the city and was one of those cheap hotels where you paid by the night , she had no idea where BaeHyuk went and she hated him running around since the police were looking for them. The nurse at the hospital had reported them for child abuse and neglect. She paced the room, she hated being stuck in this room and it was all the Brat's fault, she took a long drink of the bottle of soju sitting on the table, she wished her bastard ex husband hadn't brought him home and he just ran off leaving her to raise a child she didn't even want , now because of that child she was running from the police and hiding like a mouse cornered by a cat . She threw the bottle across the room, it hit the wall and shattered breaking into several pieces. The door opened and BaeHyuk came in wearing a large coat his features covered by a cap and mask, he was carrying a grocery bag with instant noodles and several bottles of soju.
"Where the hell have you been, I've been worried what if you get caught." EunHa asked . Baehyuk shrugged removing his coat, cap and mask "No ones going to recognize me in this get up, besides we wouldn't be in this situation if you weren't abusing the kid."
EunHa laughed "Me? Don't pretend you never hurt him, you're the one who beat him that night "
"I was punishing him for being disrespectful you were okay with me punishing him besides you've been treating him like that for his entire life ." Baehyuk pointed out shifting the blame onto EunHa neither of them wanted to take responsibility for the abuse they had committed

Jongsuk had spent eighteen years of his life being told he was worthless and that no one cared about him and he had started to believe it because if you're told something you're an entire life it's hard to think otherwise, even now he still struggled with accepting the fact that there were people who actually cared about him, Yoona was the first person to show him that people did care, they had been paired for a school project, but the two of them had developed a friendship in a few short weeks, even after he had his accident and he wasn't the same mentally, she didn't decide being friends with him was too troublesome she continued to the friendship . BoYoung Noona was the second person, she could have just looked the other way or ignored the abuse like every other adult did, she hadn't been fooled by Eomma either and she didn't just report his mother and stepfather, she even became his guardian most people would have sent him to an orphanage , wiping their hands clean , JongSuk might have been her patient, but technically he wasn't her responsibility.
Jongsuk opened the cupboard and took out a pack of ramen, he wanted ramen and he had seen Noona make it so many times, it wasn't that hard, he was certain he could make it himself, he found a pot and filled it with water, he was just about to place it on the stove and turn it on when Woobin walked into the kitchen, he looked at Jongsuk.
"What are you doing?" Woobin asked .
"I want ramen and you were busy." JongSuk stated simply. Woobin didn't say anything just pointed to the list of rules Noona had left taped to the refrigerator and one of the rules was he wasn't allowed to use the stove, that was a new rule after he had accidentally left the stove on because he had forgotten he had left it on, because of the accident sometimes he had short memory lapses so he could be doing something and forget he was doing it and do something else.
"I'll make you some ramen." Woobin said , " Grab another packet ," he instructed. Jongsuk handed him another packet of ramen. He watched Woobin pour both packs of noodles into the boiling water before adding the seasoning packets, he turned off the stove and brought the pot over to the table, and placed it on the table, they started eating when JongSuk's phone rang, Noona had brought him a phone after finding out that he didn't have one he only had four numbers in his contacts it wasn't like he had a lot of friends, but at least he had a phone, he recognized Yoona's number , and left to go talk to her leaving Woobin alone in the kitchen. Woobin watched as JongSuk left the room, it had seemed that his friend Yoona had called him, though he had met the girl only once, it seemed that JongSuk were very good friends and he wondered if there was something more there or had there been. He looked up as JongSuk came back into the kitchen.
"Was that Yoona?" He asked, JongSuk nodded, "She's coming home soon, her Halmeoni's doing better"
"Do you like Yoona?" Woobin asked, Jongsuk nodded "I like Yoona" he continued, "I like Woobin,Halmeoni and Noona, they're nice ."
"Right, but do you like Yoona in a different way than me or your Noona or Halmeoni." Woobin pressed.
JongSuk tilted his head and looked thoughtful then shook his head, "We're friends." He said . He saw Yoona as a friend and always had even before the accident they were just friends.
Woobin realised he only knew a little bit about Jongsuk, he knew he had been abused and possibly bullied, but that was all, apart from Yoona did he have any other friends , did he have any hobbies or anything he liked to do. Woobin was surprised when he found out how isolated Jongsuk had been for the past eighteen years besides going to school , he hadn't really been allowed to do much he had had an after school job but apparently he only had it a week before he had been forced to quit, he was allowed to go to the library, but he practically had to beg to even be allowed to do something simple as that but he was only allowed to go for two hours .
Woobin couldn't imagine growing up being isolated and abused by the people who were meant to protect you,he never understood why some parents felt the need to abuse their children.

Someone had reported EunHa and Baehyuk to the police and the hotel was being searched for the couple, unlike the first time the whole happened without warning and the couple was arrested , one of the officers called BoYoung to inform her of the news , she hung up feeling relieved she couldn't wait to tell JongSuk the news that his mother and stepfather had finally been arrested.
A/N :This isn't the end even though it ends with the parents getting arrested but I have more planned.
