"What do you want to do for Christmas." BoYoung asked JongSuk one evening , it was December and Christmas was approaching, BoYoung loved Christmas, even after Eomma died she thought she wouldn't want to celebrate it, when Eomma died she went to live with her Aunt, her aunt kept the holiday tradition, her aunt never had any children so treated her niece like her daughter.

"I don't know." JongSuk said, he never liked holidays, to most people holidays were a time to spend with family, but for him holidays were never a time of celebration, Chuseok, Christmas,New Year's, Lunar New Year's every holiday,he  didn't like them, in elementary school when school resumed after the break the teachers would always ask the students what they had done over the holidays. Most of the kids had stories, even the kids who lived at the orphanage all did something, he was the only one who had done nothing. Eomma drank more than usual, if he was lucky she had a man over and she would at least give him $10, it wasn't a lot, but at least he wouldn't starve, he could go to the convenience store and buy ramen and a few other things, though he also knew that meant he was essentially being kicked out for hours.

BoYoung realised that JongSuk probably never had any good holidays, and since this was his first Christmas away from the mother who had abused him for years, she wanted it to be special.

"Is there anything you ever wanted to do?" BoYoung asked, she turned the tv off and turned  to him.

JongSuk looked up from the puzzle, he was working on , then said hesitantly, "I want to see the ocean," he said quietly.

"The ocean?" BoYoung asked,JongSuk nodded and pushed the puzzle away he sat next to her on the sofa, "I've never been to the beach, but in the landlady's office at the apartment, she had a picture of the beach and the ocean was so blue, Noona, I want to see the ocean."

"I think we can do that,"BoYoung said , she pulled out her laptop and started looking for planes to beaches , she decided that they could overseas ,We can go somewhere for Christmas ,maybe we can see if Yoona and Woobin can come along if their families will let them"

"What if they can't come ." JongSuk asked he already had his phone out .

"Then we'll have a good vacation together." BoYoung said, she smiled and turned back to her laptop ,"But you need a passport first, I don't suppose you have one?" She wasn't surprised when he shook his head, "No I didn't think you did, we'll do that tomorrow after breakfast." BoYoung said .

Line break

JongSuk had never believed in fate after all he had lived eighteen years with a mother who hated his very existence and a father who would go off and gamble than try to stop his wife's abuse. But sometimes fate surprises you and a twist of fate could change one's life. Noona was a better mother in the few short months, she had been his guardian than Eomma had been in eighteen years, Noona assured him if Eomma ever was released though that happening was unlikely, she wouldn't be able to see him again nor get custody of him. He hadn't seen his father  since he didn't show up to the museum. JongSuk thought he would be more hurt, but he didn't feel anything , it wasn't like his father had been a huge part of his life before. JongSuk also knew that JinHo wasn't technically his father, but his uncle, Woobin had asked if he ever wanted to find his biological father, he had thought about it for a minute then shook his head, he didn't want to be disappointed by another family member.

"Are you happy?" BoYoung asked JongSuk, they were sitting in the resort restaurant,  she reached across the table reaching for his hand

"Are you happy?" BoYoung asked JongSuk, they were sitting in the resort restaurant,  she reached across the table reaching for his hand.

JongSuk didn't even have to think about it, he nodded, BoYoung smiled , "Good" he deserved to be happy and she never wanted him to feel the way he had when he was living with his mother, unloved and unwanted. Even though she hadn't raised him, BoYoung would be a better parent than both of his parents had ever been and that was the most important thing.

Because sometimes fate could be cruel, but sometimes fate could be kind ,life after all could be a Twist of Fate.
