Freedom

7 2 1

Unchained, undaunted; free to roam the streets
With sun and light and wind beneath my feet
No care in the world, not even for my next meal
And rules and inhibitions all set aside

Unattached, liberated; free to live my life
With man or woman or bird and cat and mice
No one to hold me down, not even a pet
And fickle entrapments like love neatly escaped

Unfettered, unbound; free to go my way
Whether life or death, the choice is mine to make
No cause to pull me back, nothing to fill my day
And painful obligations never mine to have

Unchained, undaunted; free to roam the streets
With sun and light and no shoes on my feet
No care in the world, not a thing to my name
And no need for rules, no use for life

Unattached, liberated; free to live my life
Without man or woman or animal, just alone
No one to hold my hand, or be by my side
And desired entrapments like love sadly unknown

Unfettered, unbound; free to go my way
Whether life or death, not sure which choice to make
No cause to pull me back, nothing to fill my day
And painful obligations like living too hard for me.
