The first thing Kirra had done when she got back home from the Ministry was find Mattheo who was rushing down the stairs at the sound of the front door opening. A wide grin blessed his face as his arms went around her, happy that she was safe.
Mattheo's arms enveloped Kirra in a tight embrace as relief washed over him. The scent of her hair and the warmth of her presence reassured him more than any words could convey. He pulled back slightly, his hands framing her face as he searched her eyes for any signs of distress.
"You didn't have any run-ins at the Ministry?" he asked, his voice a gentle murmur. Kirra managed a small, tired smile, nodding in response.
"I'm fine, Theo," she replied, her fingers tracing a reassuring pattern on his cheek. "Just a bit exhausted."
Concern flickered in Mattheo's eyes, Kirra reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers. "You don't need to worry so much Theo, it's okay"
He squeezed her hand, a mixture of love and concern etched across his face. "I love you," Mattheo whispered, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead.
"Love you too my love." but the cute moment was of course quickly cut short as Harry explained what had happened
"I knew it!" yelled Ron, punching the air. "You always get away with stuff !"
"They were bound to clear you," said Hermione, who had looked positively faint with anxiety "There was no case against you, none at all. . . ."
"Everyone seems quite relieved, though, considering they all knew I'd get off," said Harry, smiling.
Mrs. Weasley was wiping her face on her apron, and Fred, George, and Ginny were doing a kind of war dance to a chant that went "He got off, he got off, he got off —"
"That's enough, settle down!" shouted Mr. Weasley, though he too was smiling.
Kirra leaned into Mattheo's side but glanced worrisomely over at Sirius, "Hey pads, Lucius Malfoy was at the Ministry —"
"What?" said Sirius sharply.
"He got off, he got off, he got off —"
"Be quiet, you three! Yes, we saw him talking to Fudge on level nine, then they went up to Fudge's office together. Dumbledore ought to know." Arthur continued for her
"Absolutely," said Sirius. "We'll tell him, don't worry."
"Well, I'd better get going, there's a vomiting toilet in Bethnal Green waiting for me. Molly, I'll be late, I'm covering for Tonks, but Kingsley might be dropping in for dinner —"
"He got off, he got off, he got off —"
"That's enough — Fred — George — Ginny!" said Mrs. Weasley, as Mr. Weasley left the kitchen.
"Harry and Kirra dears, come and sit down, have some lunch, you hardly ate breakfast. . . ."
Ron, Hermione and Harry all walked into the kitchen to eat but Kirra politely declined and said she wasn't hungry before going to walk up the stairs. Mattheo followed after her, waiting before they were out of earshot from everyone. "You okay?" he asked her quickly as he noticed how quiet she had gone, a small frown etched on her pretty face
Kirra smiled softly, nodding her head before letting out a small yawn, "yeah, just a lil tired, I haven't been sleeping much lately," she admitted. Mattheo nodded softly, worry filling his bones, the feeling was enough to make him feel nauseous. He hated being so useless, he could see that she was struggling but he couldn't figure out how he could help her.
He watched as she beelined right for their room again. He stopped her, grabbing her wrist softly in his hand, "hey... why dont we do something?" he asked her softly. She spent most of her time in their room these days, just lying in bed.
