The whole group seemed to have held its breath while Harry spoke. Kirra's eyes wondered the bar, noticing all the attention that Harry had gathered for himself, hell, even the barman was listening in. He was wiping the same glass with the filthy rag; it was becoming steadily dirtier.
Zacharias said dismissively, "All Dumbledore told us last year was that Cedric Diggory got killed by You-Know-Who and that you brought Diggory's body back to Hogwarts. He didn't give us details, he didn't tell us exactly how Diggory got murdered, I think we'd all like to know —"
"If you've come to hear exactly what it looks like when Voldemort murders someone I can't help you," Harry said. His temper, always so close to the surface these days, was rising again. He did not take his eyes from Zacharias Smith's aggressive face, determined not to look at Cho. "I don't want to talk about Cedric Diggory, all right? So if that's what you're here for, you might as well clear out."
Kirra looked up at her brother, she could feel all the anger that he was feeling, she could see that he was about to absolutely lose his shit.
Kirra stood up, her legs shaking a bit clearing her throat, "umm..." she looked at Harry, not really knowing what to say at this moment, but also not wanting to leave him in front of all this crossfire, "its up to you lot okay, but... but, I'm also going to help out uh-"
Mattheo could tell that she was struggling to find the words that she wanted to say, so he stood up, his face was cold like usual and he knew it would be highly unlikely for any of them to to try and talk back to him, so he took the opportunity.
"As you all know, Kirra is the best student at the school, you can argue all you want with me on that but let's be fucking honest, you know it and I know it. She literally turned into a fucking dragon last year, she can produce a full corporeal patronus that varies in size and can get almost as big as the quidditch field and she's been able to do that for years, she gets the best grades out of everyone here," Mattheo said quit plainly, showing that his thought was absolute and final and nobody would be able to change his view on the matter
"anyone who disagrees should duel with her right now," Theodore spoke up, nodding his head. Kirra rolled her eyes, a small grin tugging on her lips at their behaviour.
"I'm not duelling anyone, but what I'm trying to say... if you want to learn some defense, then we need to work out how we're going to do it, how often we're going to meet, and where we're going to meet. Plus, Harry is amazing too, and Hermione and Ron. I mean, don't forget that Harry can produce a Patonus too."
There was a murmur of interest around the group at this. "Yeah," said Harry slightly defensively.
"A corporeal Patronus?" The phrase stirred something in Harry's memory.
"Er — you don't know Madam Bones, do you?" he asked.
The girl smiled. "She's my auntie," she said. "I'm Susan Bones. She told me about your hearing. So — is it really true? You make a stag Patronus?"
"Yes," said Harry.
"Blimey, Harry!" said Lee, looking deeply impressed. "I never knew that!"
"Mum told Ron not to spread it around," said Fred, grinning at Harry. "She said you got enough attention as it was."
"She's not wrong," mumbled Harry and a couple of people laughed. The veiled witch sitting alone shifted very slightly in her seat. "And did you kill a basilisk with that sword in Dumbledore's office? And Kirra, you died and came back to life!" demanded Terry Boot. "That's what one of the portraits on the wall told me when I was in there last year. . . ."
