Kirra had woken up the next day, frowning slightly at the coldness next to her. She opened her eyes to find that Mattheo wasn't in the bed, her eyes darting around to realise that he wasn't even in the room. Blaise was still in bed, passed out and snoring away, his blankets tucked in around him. Theo's bed was empty and Jasper was over in the corner trying to tend to his curls.

Jasper catches Kirra's reflection in the mirror and smiles softly as he sees that she is finally awake, "hey hufflebug, sleep well?" he asked her, she could see the look on his face clear as day. The worry and sympathy in his brown eyes that he was trying to mask with his smile.

"Yeah it was good," she admits, happy to finally have a good sleep without nightmares now that she had gone back to falling asleep with Mattheo, "when did the boys leave?" she asks in confusion, stretching her arms up and letting out a yawn.

Jasper finished his hair and turned around, "they left about half an hour ago, i work up to them leaving, they both seemed pretty pissed off about something but then again, when arent they?" he chuckled. He grabbed his tie, wrapping it around his neck and beginning to tie it, "you should get ready, we need to head down," he reached over to Theo's bed and grabbed one of the pillows, launching it over at Zabini

"Wake up Blaise, we're gonna miss breakfast," he called out to the now, grumbly brunette who sleepily launched the pillow back at him before pulling the blanket over his head and rolling over to go back to sleep

Kirra grinned softly before making her way to the door so that she could head back to Hufflepuff and get changed. Jasper quickly grabbed his bag and followed after her, "ill walk with ya," he said.

Kirra nodded, grabbing her bag and the two of them left the dorm, saying a quick goodbye to Blaise. They walked along the corridor, usually they would be talking, but it was quiet between them, the tension growing more and more.

Kirra knew Jasper wanted to say something, but wasn't sure if he should or how he would go about saying it. "The old hag!" Jasper suddenly cursed out as they came to a halt in front of the Hufflepuff barrels, Kirra jumped slightly in shock at his sudden outburst. "She's sick! Go to Sprout, say something! Fuck! I cant believe she did that to you!"

"No," said Kirra at once. "I'm not giving her the satisfaction of knowing she's got to me."

"Got to you? You can't let her get away with this!" Jasper said with a scoff, "the lady is batshit crazy and you don't deserve to go through that."

"I don't know if telling sprout would even do anything, y'know Umbitch is with the ministry, should could have more power here than we know," said Kirra with a sigh, "besides, I can deal with it, it isn't event that bad."

"Dumbledore, then, tell Dumbledore!" Jasper said quickly, without even thinking, nothing else on his mind except for helping the girl

"No," said Kirra flatly.

"Why not?" Jasper asked but then his eyes quickly widened and he shook his head, "right, stupid fucking suggestion sorry."

"It's okay J," said Kirra, smiling softly at the boy and wrapping her arms around him, "you lot don't need to worry so much about me 'kay? I'm gonna be fine," she pulls away with a small smile. Jasper couldn't help but grin a little at her smile, the calm look on her face giving him a small sense of comfort that he hadn't felt in a while.

Even after everything, and how much she had changed... she was still the sweet Hufflepuff deep down, even if there was a black mist trying to shut out the sunshine deep down. "I'll wait here for you, then we can head down to the great hall," Jasper said with a small nod

"'kay," Kirra said and ran into the common room, disappearing out of sight as she went to go and get ready quickly.

Jasper watched Kirra disappear into the common room, a mixture of worry and frustration swirling inside him. He clenched his fists, feeling the weight of his powerlessness. He hated it, he hated not being able to help her. But as he stood there, waiting for Kirra, a determination ignited within him.
