The sun was shining on the streets of Sumeru City. The regular stalls were up, people were going about their daily lives. People were talking about their dreams now that the Akedimiya had stopped harvesting them, and Lesser Lord Kusanali was finally free.

Unfortunately for a select few, their daily lives include bickering wth their roommate every 2 seconds.

"Kaveh I just woke up." Alhaitham said groggily, trying to read his book

"Oh, come on you've been awake for like 2 hours now, plus, its not my fault you wake up at 12 in the afternoon. Don't you have some big grand sage work to attend to or something!?" Kaveh replied. Alhaitham stayed silent.
"Argh- fine. I'll just do everything by myself! As usual."

Alhaitham could not be bothered to argue at the moment, nor could he be bothered to move the books just behind him. After the whole fake god and trapped Kusanali ordeal, he was absolutely exhausted. All he wanted now was to get back to his normal life - Which includes reading with a cup of tea. Hm, well perhaps getting told off by Kaveh was part of this daily routine now.

Maybe he could even say Kaveh himself was part of his routine

Both had been living together for a few years now, and have gotten quite close despite what people might see on the surface. Tighnari, Cyno, and a few others have said that Kaveh brings out the more 'Huamn side' of Alhaitham in a way. He could see how this might be true, there is no denying that he acts more himself around his roommate. Thats just the byproduct of spending so much time with someone else.

"You know i may of considered doing it if you asked nicely" He - finally - replied, in his usual uncaring, slightly teasing manner.

"Excuse me, I SHOULD BE THE ONE ASKING NICELY? WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING NICE-"

"Kaveh."

"Oh, uh-" Kaveh quieted down a bit, knowing what Alhaitham meant. Sure, His roommate could be absolutely infuriating, but there are people outside. Kaveh knew that if he carried on scolding Alhaitham, they would get noise complaints.

Again.

"Talking about work, dosent the renowned architect of Sumeru have work to do?" Alhaitham was good at that, changing the subject. It was practically his speciality. Kaveh had no idea what his roommates new title of 'Acting Grand Sage' entailed, and wanted to know more. However, knowing Alhaitham like he did, he wasn't going to get an answer; at most he would get a 'Ask someone else, I'm sure someone like you has plenty of friends to go to.' God, this man really knew how to irritate Kaveh, without even directly saying anything.

Kaveh just supposed thats what happens when you spend a lot of time with someone like him. You know exactly how they will respond, exactly what tone they will say it in.
Hell, Kavehs mind could perfectly recreate Alhaithams voice, which only angered him more.

"As a matter of fact, I do have work to attend to, unlike you who is sitting on your lazy ass!" Kaveh then stormed off into his room to continue working on his upcoming project designs. He tried to slam the door, but if Alhaitham wasn't already annoying enough, the door to his room happened to be one that slows down before it shuts.

Alhaitham could hear the blonde groan from the other room. Honestly, he couldn't care less about being the acting grand sage - he would much rather go back to his usual scribe work. But as much as he hated to admit it, Kaveh was right, he has countless scholars come into his new office every day. Looking for advice, getting papers approved, the whole lot. He put his hands on his legs to support him as he stood up, and grabbed his keys.

Just as he put the key in the door, he hesitated, sighed, and walked to Kavehs room.
"Im going to work now. I won't be home until around 6pm"
Alhaitham didn't know why he was doing this, but it felt necessary.

Kaveh heard what he'd said, but was to concentrated on the precise measurements of his drawing to respond. For some reason, it was comforting knowing when his roommate would be leaving.

Only because he didn't want to loudly try to speak to the silver-haired only for him to not be around. That would be embarrassing, and the only thing Kaveh hates more than embarrassing himself is his roommate doing it for him, or a rude client.

Kaveh sighed. "This is the 3rd time I've had to redesign this... Honestly do people not appreciate good architecture nowadays?! The arches are important to the overall look of the building, and you cant just make the roof a flat slab.. It's not like my client is low on mora or anything"
"unlike me." He growled, knowing that this project would most likely end up like the rest, and he would have to wait even longer to move out.
"I mean, whats the need of replacing good quality materials? Ugh this is so frustrating.." Kaveh put his head on the table and dozed off.

Alhaitham got back from work. It was pretty normal, considering his new rank. Most people assumed being the grand sage was extremely time consuming, but even with his scribe work on top of sage work, Alhaitham didn't feel like he was doing all that much more. He pulled out out his keys from his pocket.
"Hm, Whats this?" He said as he pulled out Kavehs keys along with his. He shook his head and unlocked the door.

He took off his shoes and put Kavehs keys on a shelf near the door. He walked to Kavehs room and knocked gently.
"Kaveh, you forgot your keys again."
Kaveh jumped awake. Oh god is Haitham already back? Crap i didnt get any of my design done.. another all nighter it is guess.
"Oh! uhh.. mhm.. " He said sleepily
"Did I wake you?" Alhaitham replied
"Whaat noo... What time is it..?" Kaveh said as he got up and opened the door. His hair was slightly messy and his feather fell out when he was asleep and was lying on his desk. Alhaitham could clearly see his roommates droopy face, the one he was so used to seeing every morning. Kaveh never seemed to sleep well, so it wasn't surprising that ne fell asleep in the middle of the day.
"Your keys are on the shelf." Alhaitham said and walked away

"Oh my god I almost forgot." Kaveh said panicked.
"Dehya invited us to dinner with the others, i completely forgot."
"Its not that big a deal Kaveh, calm down."
"Whats the time!? you never told me. We were meant to meet at half 6!" Kaveh didnt know how he was going to get ready on time. He knew it must be past 6 because Alhaitham was home, how could he do his hair, his make up, get dressed, in that time?
"We still have 17 minutes."
"17 MINUTES?? Okay. Okay! I will just.. Do my makeup really quickly.. " Kaveh trailer off ttying to figure out how he was going to do all the necessary going out things, while Alhaitham was somehow not bothered. Kaveh didn't understand how he didnt care to put any effort into his appearance, especially meeting up with friends. He found it lazy, but had other things to think about.

-------

"You ready to go?" Kaveh said. He managed to do everything he needed to, though he decided on some simpler makeup.
"Mhm." Alhaitham sounded unexited, but in reality he did enjoy catching up with people. Well, that is until Kaveh has one too many drinks and starts rambling about who knows what.

Kaveh walked to the door and picked up his keys, making sure his roommate wouldn't find them in his pocket again. He opened the door and stepped outside, smelling the fresh air, while Alhaitham was puting on his shoes.
"I thought you said you were ready to go?" Kaveh said in an annoyed tone. "When you say your ready to go you should be actually ready. Not just ready to get ready."
"I have my shoes on now. Is that ready enough for you?"
Kaveh sighed "Yes whatever lets just go."
