Kaveh and Alhaitham were approaching the cafe everyone agreed to meet at. It was relatively new, and Dehya and Candace had went on a date there a few days ago. Kaveh concluded that anywhere them two went out would be nice, as they're always talking about how amazing their dates were when they hung out. Alhaitham was usually occupied doing work, or just doesn't want to come, so he didn't know anything about this place. Kaveh had to tell him about Dehya and Candace going out in the first place. Kaveh gets annoyed at Alhaithams ignorance to his social life, he wishes he would come with him when they got together with their friends; mainly because he would end up complaining about the silver haired, and they would say "Wow your talking about Alhaitham when he isnt even here, thats so best guy pals of you!" whatever that meant. Kaveh always laughed it off, even though he had no idea what they are implying. Like yes, we are friends, I'm pretty sure anyway... Does Haitham consider me a friend? Hm, what does it matter to me! Kaveh thought, trailing off in his mind.

His overthinking session was interrupted by the sight of their destination in the distance

The cafe was quite small, with a sign above that read "New raspberry pie, only 199 mora!" Kaveh saw this and his eyes lit up
"Oooh~ raspberry pie sound so good right now" Kaveh said, trying to get Alhaithams attention, as they hadn't spoken the whole walk there
"I'm not buying some for you. Use your own money." Alhaitham replied knowing he was going to end up paying for a slice for kaveh in the end anyway. Alhaitham liked getting Kaveh small gifts. He one of those people who cannot accept any big gift, or any type of kind gesture. He just pushes them away. Alhaitham knows why, but knows what his limits are to make him take the gift. Kavehs the type of guy to refuse expensive gifts and tell the giver to not spend so much money, especially on him. Alhaitham sometimes wished Kaveh would accept gifts more often, but knowing the blonde so well, he could only ever give small things. This normally included things like a small keychain, or some food that he particularly liked. He would normally give Kaveh something like this on days where he seemed more stressed than usual; he felt too awkward to go and directly comfort him, but wanted to be there for him, no matter how many arguments the architect started (and lost).

"I never said anything about you buying me anything! Its not like I cant afford it or anything." Kaveh said as he saw the others waving at them.
"I mean sure, im in debt, but that dosent mean I cant afford 199 mora." He ranted, wanting to make sure no one thought he was leeching off Alhaithams money or something of the sort.
"Ill buy it for you." The scribe said nonchalantly
"wh- huh!? you just said you wouldnt. And I don't need your charitable donations, I can buy things for myself.",
"You're always saying I should be nicer, so here I am, doing something nice, like you asked." He said as they arrived at the table.

They both sat down next to each other; on Kavehs right was Tighnari, and on Alhaithams left was Candace.
"Thank you" Kaveh sighed in defeat, but in a genuine tone as he pulled his chair closer to the table. When he actually accepts someone being nice to him, Kaveh is very sincere in his thanks

"What was that?" Alhaitham said, acting as if he didnt hear him the first time.
"I said thank you..?" The architect said, slightly annoyed at the silver haired for not bothering to listen to his gratitude.

"They say earnest thanks should be given thrice, so, one more time please."

He smiled slightly. The others giggled at the two roommates casual, but certainly not unusual, pissing eachother off.
"Wow, someone likes hearing Kaveh say thanks to him" Dehya said teasingly
"Must be a rare occurrence" Tighnari added
"I say thank you plenty!" Kaveh inturupted, trying to defend himself. "Just not to him. So perhaps your right, maybe the feeble scholar is deprived of hearing my thanks" Kaveh crossed his arms.
"I wont buy you the pie if you keep saying stuff like that" Alhaitham said jokingly
"I already told you I can by my own food!"

"Honestly, you two fight like a married couple sometimes." Candace leaned on the back of her hand.
"'sometimes' is going a bit soft dont you think?" Cyno chuckled and looked towards tighnari.
"Cynos right," Tighnari turned his head to face the two roommates "You fight like a married couple ALL. THE. TIME." He said, emphasizing his words.
"Or maybe we fight like normal people? No need for the married couple part." Kaveh looked at the ground.
"Oh come on your fighting over paying for food. It dosent get more married couple than that" Dehya said in support of the rest of the group. Kaveh glanced at Alhaitham as if to say 'Are you ok with this?'
"Im going to the toilet." Alhaitham stood up, ignoring Kavehs cry for help to defend him. The blonde pouted slighly at the betrayal from his roommate.

"So, when is Collei arriving Nari?" Cyno broke the silence and changed the subject, much to Kavehs approval.
"Ah, she wanted to get some things dont back at Gandharva Ville. I told her she didn't need to and could come here, but she insisted. Oh but she did make some pita pockets for us!" Tighnari explained while setting out the food on the table. He then noticed that the blonde was looking a bit down.

"Hey Kaveh, you alright?" He said, trying not to sound too concerned. Kaveh might have spaced out, theres no real need to be worried!

"Hm?" Kaveh looked up, seeming a bit disconnected, but quickly returned to his smiley, extroverted, self.
"Ah, I'm quite fine Tighnari!" He said enthusiastically, making sure to engage with the group.

"Alright then."
