Bella's pov:

"These violent delights have violent ends.

And in their triumph die, like fire and powder.

Which, as they kid, consume."

Jackson's POV:

I arrived at Charlie's house with Bella's gift in hand and with Angela by my side.

"You okay being here?" Angela asked me.

"I'm not here for her. Charlie asked me to be here and I'm here out of the respect and love that I have for my uncle. Besides, if I don't wish her a happy birthday, I know that I'm not going to hear the end of it from her," I say as we walk to the door and I knock.

"You know that you don't have to knock on the door and you still have the key to the house," Charlie tells me.

"I know, a habit that I have since I moved out," I say.

"Just because you moved out, it doesn't make it any less your house than it was when you lived here. You grew up in this house," Charlie tells me.

"Still want to be respectful of your house," I reminded him.

"In other words, you both to the Cullen's for Bella's birthday party that they're throwing?" Charlie asked.

"I am, but Angela has some plans with her parents tonight," I answered as we went up the stairs.

"I don't know why, but I always wanted to see what the Cullen household always looked like," Angela said.

"It looks great with the forest surrounding it," I say.

Soon, we arrived at Bella's door. Charlie knocked on her door and we all walked in.

"Happy birthday," Charlie tells his daughter.

"I thought we agreed to no birthday presents," Bella said, seeing the gifts that Charlie had in his hands.

"The one from me isn't wrapped, so it doesn't count. It goes with your mother's gift, it's a scrapbook. We coordinated, or she coordinated with me. It's for you to take pictures of your senior year. Senior year, when did you get old?" Charlie asked.

"18 is not old," Bella denied.

"Is that a grey hair?" Charlie asked while pointing to the top of her head.

"No," Bella said as she got up from her bed and went to the mirror.

"Not funny," Bella said when she backed away from the mirror and it made me laugh.

"Happy birthday," Charlie said with a smile.

"See you later," I say before leaving with Angela.

Later on that night, I was standing with Emmett and Rosalie.

"I don't even know why I'm here. We're not that close," I tell the couple.

"We told Alice to not invite you, but she kept in persisting in inviting you to the party because you are family," Rosalie explained and I scoffed.

"Family doesn't willingly put their relatives in danger," I said and Rosalie agreed.

Soon, Alice skipped to the area with Bella and Edward in tow.

"What are you doing here?" Bella asked.

"Your friend demanded that I come here," I answered.

"I didn't want you here," Bella snapped.

"You and me both, my dear cousin," I say before Alice dragged Bella to Carlisle and Esme, who handed her an envelope and were having a private conversation.

The next thing we know, Bella cuts her finger, which causes Jasper and I to get into a frenzy. We both get dragged outside by Rosalie and Emmett. A few seconds later, Edward comes out and it is obvious that he is furious.

"Bella could have died because of you both," Edward said.

"Yes Edward, let your sister throw a party for a clumsy human with its guests being a room full of vampires and a hybrid. But the moment that everything turns bad, let's blame the hybrid that a newborn and an empath that not only is he feeling his bloodlust, but can feel everyone's bloodlust," I say sarcastically and Edward remains quiet.

"I didn't mean to do it," I hear Jasper mutter.

"It's not your fault. Like I said to your dumbass brother, not only were you dealing with your bloodlust, you're dealing with your family's bloodlust. Now if you all don't mind, I'm going to go hunt and then go home," I say before taking off.

What a disaster this day was.
