It's currently 4 in the morning and my mom and I are driving to the airport where she'll drop me off to go to LA. I'm so exited, Gracie and I have been texting non stop counting down the hours. "Okay sweetie I'll be here on the 9th to pick you up" my mom said pulling me into a hug "I know mom thanks" I say hugging her tight back Luckily when your mom's Taylor Swift flying is pretty easy. No lines just arrive and board the plane. Doesn't mean it's easy to say goodbye. After being this close because of the pandemic leaving my mom was a little hard. After hugging for awhile I finally let go. "Okay mom I really should go" "Okay babe, have fun!" My mom says while I put my backpack on "love you!" "I love you to mom" I say walking away putting my AirPods in heading towards the plane. I board the empty plane taking a window seat near the front. I send my last few texts before trying to catch up on some sleep

I fall back asleep for a few hours but I woke up early enough to catch the sunrise. I snap picture texting it to Gracie.

We text back and forth for awhile longer. I put on a movie doing anything to make this flight feel shorter. Finally after what felt like a million the plane landed. I got my bag, Gracie texted me to say her and her mom were waiting in the parking lot to pick me up. As soon as I leave the airport I hear my name, I look up from my phone and see Gracie running at me full speed. I start running toward her until we meet clinging to one another. "I can't believe you're here!" Gracie says hugging me tighter "I know" we hug for awhile longer before her moms interrupts "Cassidy! It's nice to meet you" she says holding her hand out I shake her hand "nice to meet you too..." I hesitate not knowing what to call her "Katie" she said "Nice to meet you Katie" I smiled Gracie threw her arm over my shoulder jumping. She was clearly very exited as was I but traveling always makes me tired. We put my stuff in the car and Gracie and I hop in the back of her mom's SUV. "Oh my gosh Cass there's so much I want to show you! We have to go to the beach and there's this breakfast place we'll have to get takeout from one morning oh and—" her mom cut her off from "sweetie let the poor girl adjust to the jet lag before filling the itinerary. "Right sorry!" She says turning to me laughing "Nono it's ok" I laugh "I just want to shower then I'm down for whatever" "Yay!" She grabs my hand "we should go to the beach it's such a nice day and there's this spot I found with Audrey when we first got our licenses" "Sounds fun" I say yawning Gracie laughs "we'll get coffee too" Her laugh caused me to do the same "perfect!" The drive wasn't to long, it even felt short being able to talk with Gracie. We arrive to her house, as we enter we're met with with weenie pawing at our feet "oh my gosh he's so much cuter in person" I laugh crouching down next to him "Awww weenie" Gracie says sitting on the floor next to me "he likes you" "I like him" I giggle as he licks my nose. Gracie leads me into the living area where her brothers are sat on the couch watching something and her dad's sitting at the table drunk in his coffee reading something off his phone. Gracie clears her throat "guys I'd like you to meet Cassidy" They all sand up coming to greet me we exchanged hellos, her family all introducing themselves. Gracie takes me up to her room shows me where the shower is. I shower as quickly as possible, putting on a pair of denim shorts and a black graphic tshirt. "Hey Gracie do you have a hair tie?" I ask walking back to her room from the bathroom. She flung one at me apologizing "sorry it's not blonde" I pull my hair into a bun "Oh I don't care" I say lacing up my converse We both finish tying our shoes before heading down the stairs leaving her house. "We're going to the beach" Gracie calls behind her closing the door We get in Gracie car. "There's a Starbucks on the way" she says backing out of the driveway "Omg I Carmel latte sounds so good right now" I laugh "so what's to special about this beach?" I ask "Oh it's like this little let-out off the highway that has a little trail down to the beach- I don't know how more people don't know about it is only like 20 minutes outside of the city" she explains "that reminds me with should get lunch too" We get our coffees, Gracie got a frappecino and we got sandwiches from what Gracie calls 'the best sandwich shop in LA' and I have to give it to her they're pretty good. We make it to her super secret beach spot. The beach was amazing. There were amazing waves if you were going to surf and the sand was soft. The sun was shining Gracie layer out a picnic blanket she had in the trunk of her car, we talked and tanned for hours enjoying the last few days of summer. Eventually the summer breeze grew colder and it was reaching dinner time, gracie and I packed up our things getting in the car and we headed home. "Your on aux" Gracie said handing me the cord "Oh um" I bite my lip scrolling through Spotify "frank ocean?" "Sure" Gracie says checking her phone before saying "my parents wants us to pick up dinner- we get to pick though? What do you want?" She asks "Um whatever" shrug "We should he Thai food there's this place that's kinda on the way that had boba" Gracie says "I love boba oh my god" I say smiling "I know you never shut up about it" Gracie teases I laugh acting offended "wow I see how it is" Gracie laughed and shrugs "here's the menu when u know what we went we can pull over and order I'll have my family send me their request too" she explains We order pick up the food and head back to Gracie's home. When we arrive the rest of the Abram's family eats outside given it's a nice night out but Gracie and I go to watch a movie "I was thinking it's time you watch twilight with me" Gracie says "Alright but I have to be honest I've never been to into vampires" Gracie laughs giving me the side eye which makes me laugh. We eat and watch the movie until the time difference starts catching up to me and I am hit with a wave of tiredness. I power through the rest of the movie but as it ends I yawn making Gracie realize my body clock is three hours ahead "Oh shit u must be so tired" she laughs I laugh "only I little" I say "Here um I was thinking we'd just share my bed but if you want we can get an air mattress or there's the guest ro—" I cut her off "your bed sounds great" We brush our teeth getting into her bed I think she was up on her phone for awhile but I fell asleep almost immediately. The last thing I remember thinking before drifting asleep was how exited I was to be in LA with Gracie.
