It was the morning, I had just woken up to the sound of the shower in the hotel room I was sharing with my younger brother. My parents texted to say they were up so I went to their room.
Cassidy has invited me to sleepover and I knew, I knew I wanted to go. But I also know my parents, especially by dad, wouldn't want to to go. He normally would but this stupid pandemic is ruining my chances of keeping my new friend. I texted my best friend Audrey to ask for advice.

Audrey was right my dad probably wouldn't let me but it's worth asking right? My dad was in the shower, asking my mom first would probably work to my advantage. "Hey mom?" She hummed in acknowledgment "uhh I was wondering if I would see Cassidy again before we leave?" i asked "yea of course whenever" I knew shed say yes to that part, my dad would too I just need to convince them to let me sleep over. "Sheaskedmetosleepover" I blurted out looking at my shoes "oh sweetie well have to talk about that with your dad"
"Talk about what with me" my dad said stepping out of the bathroom
"Cassidy invited Gracie to sleep over" my mom explained as if it wasn't an insane request "sweetie there's a global pandemic its not safe" my dad explained as if I hadn't heard him say that a million times
"I know it's not socially distanced or whatever but I don't know I was thinking maybe just this once?" I pleaded
"Its okay with me" my mom replied "its clearly important for you and I don't know its not everyday you make a new friend" I cringed she was right that's for sure, I lean so far introverted I really only hangout with the same few people. "Cmon please dad I never ask for anything like this, you let Henry see his friends all the time." I was basically begging at this point
"Henrys 18" He said as if that was a good reason "I'm 18 in September, just consider it an early birthday present" I joked but he didn't find it very funny
"JJ she's right, I think this will be good, we already risked being exposed flying here and I really doubt that girl has covid" my mom said
My dad huffed giving in "ok ok fine"
"OH MY GOD THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH" I said jumping up to get my phone
