I cannot believe my eyes. A snowy owl is perched outside my bedroom window at the Malfoy Manor. I've been waiting for this damned owl to arrive for so long.Ever since Draco took off to Hogwarts last year, it's been lonely. I used to follow him around and learn from him. There was one point where I cared more about him than my mother, Narcissa Malfoy. He was a decent role model when it came to being an older brother. He'd always play with me, give me things I wanted-one could argue that isn't a good thing, but I'll learn to survive without everything... eventually.
My parents were overjoyed at the thought of me going to the same school as my brother, and following in their footsteps as a Slytherin. Or so they thought.

Quite unexpectedly, 2 months ago I was placed into the house of Gryffindor. The brave, ambitious house that represents a lion. I recall the silence that filled the Grand Hall the moment that stupid Sorting Hat yelled "Gryffindor!".What I didn't expect was the way my parents reacted to the news. Instead of paying for me to be moved into Slytherin, they were civil about the whole affair. Although Draco, of course, had turned into an ass. Him and his stupid little Slytherin friends would make fun of me nonstop. Thankfully I didn't have any classes with him since we are a year apart in age.

Present - November 21st
It's now been 2 years of my time at Hogwarts. I'm a year 3 Gryffindor student. And honestly, being a Gryffindor isn't so bad anymore. I don't have to listen to Draco and his friends talk at lunch, since his table is the opposite side of the Grand Hall. And our Quidditch team is probably the best out of the four houses.Although lately I've found myself counting down the days till December 1st, my birthday! I'll be finally turning 13 and I can't wait to see what my daddy and mummy have picked out this year. Last year I got a set of pearls from my daddy, and a beautiful red velvety dress from my mummy. Draco usually just picks up something random from Hogsmeade, but I don't mind it. As long as he still thinks of me, that's all that matters.
I have a good feeling about this year. I'm starting to mature, which entails all new forms of fun.
Lavender Brown and I celebrated our anniversary of being friends for a year yesterday. Honestly, the girl could use a makeover, but I don't want to be arrogant. Although that is in the Malfoy nature.
I've noticed Theodore following me around the castle. I haven't spoken to him since when I first came to Hogwarts. He insulted me in front of Draco, and Draco didn't even say anything.

Just to refresh your memory: Theodore and me were really close friends when we were younger. When his parents and mine discussed business; we'd play in the garden, or play with my dollhouse. Although as we got older and his days of childhood shortened, I often found myself watching him and Draco play together.Draco has always been jealous of me. He thinks that since he's older he deserves more attention. He used to give me everything, but he took something from me too. Theodore Nott. My best friend. Theo used to call me 'Lee', and I called him 'Teddy'. But now we barely even acknowledge each other.

Theodore had said, "Baby Malfoy's a Gryffindor now? Filthy blood-traitor". Those words crushed my heart, and I was already crying because of the whole situation. That was the moment I knew that the 'Teddy' I knew as a child was long gone. He was replaced with an arrogant dull husk.I always had a thing for Theodore, but I never said anything. I mean come on, have you seen him? Those blue piercing eyes, and that brown bushy hair-it's too much. So when I realized he had changed for the worse, I was heartbroken. I lost my best friend, and my love.
Right now I'm sitting in my bed in my private dorm, that daddy paid for, writing in this stupid diary like my mother suggested in her letter. I had been writing to her telling her I'm very stressed and wondering if she could give suggestions on how to cope with it. If you know Mrs. Malfoy, you know she's always under stress. So I figured it was worth a shot to ask, and she delivered.
I am now just remembering I have to feed Callie, my black cat. I keep forgetting to eat myself. I feel bad for her, but she's very spoiled so I don't feel so bad. I'll probably never write in this diary again, but if I do, then thanks mom.
