A Tale

Chapter 12

The next day comes draping all the realisation over Taehyung's head like some cold water. He packed his duffle back went to the living room and sat on the couch. 

He was wearing a formal white shirt that was tucked into his back jeans, all simple. His eyes were red, swollen even. 

Waking up all night, Taehyung realised two things. One. Jungkook doesn't love him anymore. Second. He loves Jungkook. Still.

But Taehyung had decided something. And his decision includes his last goodbye to the love of his life. So that's why he is sitting here, waiting for Jungkook like a fool.

Taehyung decided that anyone can degrade him, insult him, he doesn't care but no one can make fun of his love. His love is...was pure. No, still is but now from his side only.

Taehyung gulped and looked up. He didn't know after taking vows of walking together till the end, Jungkook would leave him alone like this.

But this is life. Anything can happen. And Taehyung is just tired now, there is nothing left inside him to hear or to watch.

Empty eyes waited for his loved one to come out from his room so that he could see him before leaving this city for good.

He talked with his brother at night, choking on his tears while explaining the need to go away from here. Yoongi agreed in the blink of a second, not asking further questions. He had said he would pick him up tomorrow morning and they will go to their village, leaving everything here behind them.

Taehyung blinked in attention when he heard the door of the room open, he felt scared to look up so he kept his gaze down as he spoke.

"I sent my last agreement to the court." 

Jungkook stopped in his steps when the words got registered in his mind. Jungkook was looking dead and he is thankful that Taehyung was already looking down because he doesn't have any energy to pretend anymore.

But he needs to give the last push, the last stone on his beloved heart…. And for that, he needs to be silent today.

His eyes blazed over Taehyung's entire body, his weak facial features, red eyes, swollen red nose and half peeled lips.

Taehyung felt that familiar burning behind his eyes again. He stood up from his seat and turned around. His heart….his torn heart was still leaping towards the man standing behind him. 

"I wish for your happiness and apologies for the duration I ruined your life." Taehyung knew the man behind him was listening to him so he let his tears flow down.

"I hope you find true love, this time." Taehyung squeezed his lips to stop his hiccups and left the house. He forced the door of the house closed and cried. 

That man… that boy...his baby didn't stop him at all. Taehyung cried like no other day is left in his life. He heard a car pull up and without looking back he sat in the back seat.

Taehyung buried his face into Jimin's lap and cried his heart out. While Yoongi wiped his face quickly to start the car again. His gaze went to the house again in bitterness and he saw Jungkook standing on the balcony. He gritted his teeth and drove the car away.

The balcony has reflective glasses and Jungkook was thankful for that too otherwise Yoongi will see his stubborn tears that weren't stopping at all.
