“Eight months ago, I received a message from Taehyung’s number. an address and a text were saying, “please pick me up.” I went there in my car as soon as I could but there wasn't Taehyung but that old man and Mother. Watching the unusual security outside the house, I knew that man wasn't some ordinary person. Later I got to know he was some kind of gang leader and our mother’s next love interest.”
“I was angry because our mother gave my number to him and he fabricated the message using Taehyung’s identity. I argued with my mother and she threatened me to leave everything and marry a girl.”
“I denied. That mob boss starts cussing Taehyung and we fight. I got away from there, was about to call you but the very next second a video popped up in my phone and”
Jungkook hiccuped a little,” it was a video of Taehyung driving a car and then that accident happened with him."
"I tried again but every time I tried to file a complaint or speak about them, they would know instantly. I checked our home, my office there wasn't any camera or sensor security but I don't know how they were everywhere."
"His man took me to the gang leader again. He showed me his entire network, he showed me how cheap someone's life could be, how easy for him to murder someone. I-i was beyond terrified."
"There was no escape from this. I tried many methods, I wrote messages on the edges of food boxes for Taehyung to see, on the sleeves of his shirts. But nothing worked. I came to your office as well." Jungkook looked at Namjoon.
"But his men were there too. My cell phone was fully bugged so I wrote letters to you but those men always caught them. In the end, that leader got frustrated with me and made a deal ...." Jungkook wiped his eyes furiously and breathed a little.
"Either I choose my husband's life or his death." Jungkook ducked his head down when Namjoon caressed his head, crying softly.
"I chose his life." Jungkook looked up to his husband who wasn't budging from his position.
"But I know that he wasn't going to believe me even if we got a d-divorce, he wouldn't be safe as long as he will be here. I did everything that I could have... in the worst way possible."
"I regretted the words that I threw, actions I did but I don't regret leaving him… at that time this was the only thing that I could do to keep him safe."
Jungkook was looking at Taehyung's back with longing eyes, praying for him to turn around. But it didn't happen. His shoulder slumped against his knees pulling them closer to hug his chest more tightly.
"After he left, I realised that I can't live long without him. I questioned myself, why would I have to marry someone else when I can die peacefully as a married man. I was diagnosed with a heavy migraine two months back, everything was in front of my eyes, those t-tablets, divorce papers, mother but there was no Taehyung. S-so I lost myself. I'm sorry."
Everyone was looking at Jungkook with sorrowful eyes except one. The expression Taehyung had on his face was hidden from everyone.
"Anything else that we need to know. His men followed you everywhere?" Namjoon asked, caressing his head a little.
Jungkook nodded his head," Yeah. Sometimes they followed me to my house. Kept knocking on doors, windows when I was inside. One time Barged into my room when I'm showering-"
His words cut off when Taehyung jerked away from the window and stormed out of the house without throwing a glance at anyone.
