1875
The King lifted his son from his wife's side and declared his name to be Arthur Kirkland, named after his mother's favourite legend of King Arthur. Fourth son in line to the throne. He was an exact replica of his mother with beautiful blonde hair and emerald green eyes. He would form an exact memory of his mother who unfortunately passed away giving birth to her son. Though grieved from the loss, the king held on to the one thing that kept him happy. His son.
The elder three sons entered the room. Their eyes were still puffy and red from mourning the loss of their dear mother, but they were excited to see their younger brother. In order from oldest to youngest of the three, their names were: Allistor, Conner and Dylan. Allistor was an exact copy of his father and a soon to be king one day, with red as bright as flames and piercing blue eyes. He teased his siblings quite a bit and took pride in being the eldest but if you hurt them, you are dead. Next, we have got Conner. He doesn't speak too much and might seem that he doesn't care about you but in reality, he truely does and will help you if you are in need of it. Like his brother, he got his father's flaming hair however, he had his mother's (just like his new born brother) emerald green eyes. Now lastly, standing a bit behind his two older brothers, was kind and sweet Dylan. All the people called him, "The Rose with No Thornes". He was kind and caring but also very smart and extroverted. He liked talking with others, especially his own people, and he was very loveable. He had, like his mother, blonde hair and green eyes but they were lighter, mixed with a bit of red and blue of his father. Their father passed them the baby as they held it in excitement in their arms. Their new baby brother.
What comes with grief is also happiness.

All four brothers were very close and unfortunately, just a couple of years back, Allistor had to move to another castle so he could concentrate more on his studies. His father was getting old and who knows? Time flies quicker than you expect. The other two had to also concentrate and didn't have as much free time anymore. Conner is too busy out in the courtyard, training himself to fight and lead an army as he will, one day, be the Commander of the Army. Dylan is studying with his tutor, who is teaching him about his country, the United Kingdom, and how to make sure all national affairs are settled and well Arthur, he doesn't exactly have a job or responsibility in the future. He usually roams about in the library or garden, growing beautiful fruits and exotic flowers. To be honest, though it might seem fun to have no responsibility, it got quite lonely at times, he had no idea what was destined for him in the future either. He thought he was going to be used to create alliances because I mean, as history books always said, what are spares for? He hoped if he were it were to be Francis, though it was very unlikely. Francis, his secret, kind of, boyfriend, was the Prince, and even heir, of France and France was an old British enemy. Maybe, they could make an alliance, breaking all the fights, by their marriage. That is before his father would marry him off. Arthur sat down on the soft, lush grass, thinking back to the time of how he and Francis met and fell in love.
Two years ago...
"You are meeting the French Royal Family today. Your brothers will be with me, talking with the French King and Queen, while you will talk to the French heir, Prince Francis. He is about the same age as you, probably by two years. Just talk and have a chat in the Royal Gardens. Do you understand?" his father questioned, sternly.
"Yes father."
"Great."
And just on queue, the French Royal Family walked in, wearing a royal blue in contrast to the ruby red the British had wore.
