The Croods, Ila, and Guy rushed up through a narrow lane into the bright rays of the sun. "Hurry! Come on. We're gonna make it." Guy encouraged the family to continue to running. They reached the top and saw 'Tomorrow'. It was a magical sight. The clouds were golden from the sunlight, creating a pathway to the sun. For the Croods, it seemed like they could cross the clouds like a bridge and climb onto the sun.

"You were right." Ila breathed out, glancing at Guy. SHe was mesmerized with the heavenly sight beyond her eyes.

Guy pointed at the sun. "There it is. The sun. We can do it! We can ride it to Tomorrow!" Even Grug was in awe at the sight. It really was there. The ground began to shake again. They looked at both sides of the meadow and saw the ground was cracking. They needed to cross it right now.

Guy grabbed Ila's hand and yelled. "Run!" The Croods ran, Ila and Guy in the lead. When the rift opened in front of them, the hot gasses spread and a blast hot ash burst the clouds from beneath. Dark smoke covered the sun, revealing a very earthly landscape beyond. For the Croods, Tomorrow vanished before their eyes.

Guy peered down from the edge and saw the red lava flowing, ready to swalled them. He stared at it in confusion. "I don't understand. The sun was right here. It was right here." He started to panic as Ila placed her hand on his forearm to calm him down.

A loud explosion startled them. A nearby mountain crashed down and the sky was covered in a thick coat of ash. Ugga pulled the family away from the edge. "We have to go back to the cave. Hurry, hyrry, stay together. Let's keep moving. Move, move!" She started to push her family. "Everybody hold my hand."

Grug didn't join them. Instead, he took a step toward the edge trying to see through the dark curtains of ash. Ugga noticed and yelled at her husband, "Grug? What's wrong with you? Grug we will die if we stay here."

Ignoring her, he held up his hand and a beam of light settled on his palm. A smile spread across his face. Ila and Guy noticed the small beam of light, their eyes brightening. "Grug, listen to me. We've gotta get back to that cave." Ugga told him softly.

Grug turned to face his frightened family and shook his head. "No more dark. No more hiding. No more caves." He caressed Sandy's cheek. He turned to Eep. "What's the point of all of this?" He asked her. He turned to Ila who tilted her head in confusion. "To follow the light." He answered, smiling.

A bright smile broke across Ila and Eep's face as Grug continued his speech. "I can't change. I don't have ideas. But I have my strength. And right now that's all I need."

Ugga shook her head. "No. We don't know what's over there. Maybe nothing. It's too risky."

Grug smiled at his wife. "It's a chance."

Belt wiped a tear from his face. Grug really had changed for the better. Guy turned to Ila and placed his hand on her right cheek. She leaned into his cheek and sighed in content. Belt put his hand on her other cheek, which she giggled from. "I'll take that chance." Guy said as he turned to Grug. He pulled his hand back and started to walk towards Grug. But Ila stopped him by grabbing his hand, not wanting to let go. She looked at both Guy and Belt, fear evident in her eyes at the thought of losing them. What if nothing was on the other side? Guy smiled andgave an reassuring squeeze on her hand. With much hesitation, she let him go. She stood next to Eep as she hugged herself. She didn't want to loose Guy or any of the Croods like she lost her family.

Griug lifted Guy above his head. "You know, I've wanted to throw you away ever since I met you." He admitted.

Guy nervously laughed. "Heh. That's a joke right?" He was beginning to freak out at Grug's comment.
