CASSIA BELLBERG STARED at the large building in front of her. she watched as students in the infamous red outfit everyone wore walked into the building.

cassia didn't want to go in the building, a looming dread corrupted her mind. all the times she closed her eyes, all she saw was her mother's cold body being rolled away.

she closed her eyes and recalled the events this morning when she was leaving.

as she left the comfort of her bedroom, she saw her older brother creylen, she smiled at him kindly but all she got back was a cold stare.

that's all she ever got, from her father; using his cold words to her, her brothers; ignoring her, looking at her like she had just murdered someone.

cassia opened her eyes as a single tear fell down her face, she missed when her father and brothers were kind to her before her mother died, it seems like her mother was the light in the family.

flashback to when cassia was fifteen...

tears littered cassia face as she watched her mothers clothed body being rolled away. her lip trembled as sobs escaped her.

cassia didn't know what happened to her mother, all cassia was doing was watching a strange creature she had never seen before slither across the ground.

she had heard her brother scream, but she didn't think anything of it; her brother was one for attention but her attention grew when some peacekeepers went into the house.

cassia's gaze fell off her mothers body seeing more people watching the scene, she saw an older lady with two others, the boy seemed to be cassia's age and the girl seemed to be a bit older.

the boys gaze fell on cassia, who looked away looking at her father.

her father looked down at her, cassia was shaking, her normally neatly braid was now crazy looking as if she had just woken up, her hands were clenching together tightly, and her face was red from crying.

all her father saw in cassia was his now late wife, he couldn't bare to stand the sight of her. he pulled her brothers close together comforting them.

her brothers and father had gone in a while ago, she had asked her father what happened to her mother but he just ignored her, looking at her like she had a sickness.

she sat on the front steps, watching as people passed their house walking like nothing had happened. cassia hadn't noticed the boy from earlier came back until she felt a presence next to her, silently hoping it was her father to comfort her.

"i'm sorry about your mother..." a voice spoke, cassia's eyes trailed up to see the blonde haired boy from earlier. the boy sat down, silently playing with his curls.

cassia bit her bottem lip, "thank you." her voice was almost silent but he heard her.

"when my mother died...it was childbirth i was going to have a little sibling, it hurt me a lot." he spoke, hands on his pants, little rips in them.

cassia stayed silent, she wondered how his trauma was there to comfort her.

he had noticed her stay silent, "i'm sorry...i was trying to say that i know what your going through, yes i was young but my mother was the only light in my life."

she sniffed and slight smile came out of her, "i'm cassandra bellberg but my mother called me cassia." he smiled back at her.

"coriolanus snow, but my cousin calls me coryo." he lifted his hand for her to shake, she lifted her hand and shook his hands. cassia recognized the last name, snow.

"you know, when we were over here earlier my grandma'am almost thought your mother came back from the dead." he laughed slightly, cassia laughed a bit but memories of her mother came back. she remembered people telling her that cassia looked identical to her.

"grandma'am?" cassia titled her head, her voice cracking at the thought of her mother made her want to cry forever.

"my cousin has a thing for nicknames.."

cassia felt like they had been friends forever, she didn't feel like she was talking to a stranger. they both looked out onto the street an almost comforting silence.

"thank you...my father and brothers had been looking at me like i had some sickness earlier. your the first person to comfort me." cassia twisted the rings on her fingers.

coryo smiled, rubbing his hands against his pants.
