You discern the strain lacing Ghost's voice, watching as he wrestles with his thoughts, torn between what he feels and what he needs to express. His hesitation is palpable; it's clear that his next words are going to be difficult, both for him to say and for you to hear. He selects his words with painstaking care, mindful of their impact.

Finally, he breaks the silence, his voice tinged with a raw honesty. "But I don't want you to sacrifice yourself for me."

His words unleash a torrent of frustration within you, a fiery response that takes hold swiftly. The room seems to close in around you, the air thick with tension. With emotions swirling inside, you find your voice, sharp and edged with a blend of pain and protective fervor.

"So, what? I'm just supposed to stand there and watch you get hit?" The sharpness of your tone surprises even you, the culmination of pain, trauma, and deep-seated concern for him making it hard to moderate your feelings. Your eyes, burning with a combination of anguish and defiance, lock onto his. "I won't do that," you assert vehemently. "You can't expect me to just stand by when I can do something."

Ghost's reaction is immediate and sharp, his efforts to restrain his emotions visibly strained. His face transitions from a visage of pain and tension to one of barely contained anger. His glare is piercing as he speaks through clenched teeth.

"No, you're not supposed to just stand there, but I don't want you to put yourself at risk like that again!" The fervor in his voice and the penetrating intensity of his gaze slice through you, and you watch as he forcibly clenches his jaw, struggling to keep his rising anger under control. His paramount concern is clear: he cannot bear the thought of you being hurt again, and he's desperate to protect you, whatever the cost.

Inside you, a tumult of anger and hurt swells, tears threatening to break free. The frustration of your physical limitations, combined with the emotional upheaval of your near-death experience, is overwhelming.

"Yes, and what was I supposed to do? Just watch as they took you down? I care too much about yo—," you retort, your voice a tumultuous blend of anger, desperation, and vulnerability, but Ghost interjects before you can finish.

His response is laced with palpable anger and frustration. "Just watch as they took me down?" Ghost retorts sarcastically, his words dripping with bitter irony. "Oh, I don't know, maybe you could've done anything else without putting yourself in jeopardy!"

His gaze is unyielding, hard and filled with bitterness as his frustration overflows. It's evident he understands your care for him, but the idea of you endangering yourself for his sake is something he struggles to accept.

Your frustration escalates, mirroring Ghost's, as tears threaten to breach your defenses. "You think I haven't thought of that? I didn't have time to weigh any and every single option! I just acted!" The words tumble out, your voice quivering under the strain of tumultuous emotions. Beneath the surface of your anger, a complex tapestry of fear, guilt, and a deep yearning for understanding unfolds.

Ghost's gaze softens momentarily at the sight of your tears on the brink of spilling, but his resolve doesn't waver. "I know you acted without thinking!" he retorts sharply, his emotions surging beyond his control.

"But that's what I'm so goddamn frustrated about because you could've gotten yourself killed!" Despite the edge of annoyance and frustration in his voice, you catch a glimpse of empathy hidden beneath his hardened exterior. Yet, the overriding fear that you might have been seriously hurt, the unbearable thought of potentially losing you, continues to fuel his agitated state.

A tide of anger and resolute determination surges within you, lending a sharper, more defiant edge to your voice. "I'd do it again," you declare firmly, your eyes alight with a mix of frustration and earnestness.
