The divergent games

Chapter six

KATNISS POV

I wake up to the sound of screaming in the laboratory. It's Tris. I standup and Peeta walks in wearing a Peacekeeper outfit. I realize I have the needle in my hand so I quickly place it under my bed. Peeta opens my 'cage' and grabs me before I try to run. His grip is so tight, it sends a shock of pain in my arm.

Peeta takes me to the place they are holding Tris. But they aren't torturing her. She is just laying down, eyes closed. Peeta straps me to the chair. At first I believe everything is going well, but then Tris starts vibrating like crazy, she was being shocked. She let's out a small shriek before her eyes open. I look at her confused. She looks at me in pain and whispers, "I'm not six anymore."

Peeta shoves a needle in my neck and the last things I hear is, "Face your worst fears."

I open my eyes and I find myself in some other place, The Arena.

"Katniss! We have to go now!" A voice says. I turn around and I see Peeta. I run to him and give him a hug and he hugs back. "I missed you so much." I tell him. "Katniss we have to-" Peeta doesn't finish his sentence. I look at him confused. Then he collapses, I notice three knifes in his back. I hurry up and grab my bow and shoot the girl who killed Peeta, to my surprise it was Clove. Before I start crying my heart out I noticed that this wasn't real. I stiffen up. This isn't real Clove died years ago. I also noticed the bow and arrow just appeared in my hands out of no where.

"This isn't real." I say. I turn around and everything is gone. I suddenly end up in my room in District 12. I look out the window and there is many people carrying torches and signs. I run downstairs and open the door.

"Katniss Everdeen, our leader." They all repeated. I looked at a sign and it said 'She will save us all.'

"Oh crap." I say annoyed, I hate when people look up to me, It scares me because I can't save them all. I go back inside and shut the door. I lean against the door to prevent people from entering. I wipe the sweat off my forehead and open the door again, but the crowd wasn't there. The people were replaced by human skulls. They were stacked, scattered around the floor. I look around and something caught my eye. Prim, Rue, Cinna, and Finnick were standing in the middle, a few steps away from me. I was to happy to realize they were dead. I shake my head, because I knew this was a cruel joke. I then noticed they were each holding something. Prim was holding a bomb, Rue was holding a spear, Cinna was holding a Peacekeeper mask, and Finnick was holding a lizard. Then it hit me, they were holding their death weapon.

"It's your turn." they all said. The Lizard turned into a giant mutt. The mask turned into a bunch of Peacekeepers. And there were many bombs and spears heading towards my way. I grabbed my bow and arrow, and started shooting each of the Peacekeepers and Lizard's/Mutt's. I avoided the spears and bombs, but then I realized something, they were controlling them. I had to kill them.

"This isn't real" I told myself.

I shot Finnick and all the Mutt's disappeared.

"This isn't real." I say holding back my tears.

I shoot Cinna and the Peacekeepers disappear as well. I hold my tears once more, but it's killing me inside.

"This isn't real." I say again.

I shoot Rue, the same place the spear hit her before. A tear slips out.

"This isn't real." I say once more, I look at Prim and I mouth 'I'm sorry.' I release the arrow and it strikes her right in the chest. I start crying. Their bodies just stay there floating but then they turn into dust.

"You killed us." Is the last thing I hear before I'm in the next phase.

My lips are against Peeta which makes me feel a little better, I close my eyes and kiss him back, but when I open my eyes, I'm kissing Gale. I back off.

"What's wrong Katnip?" He asks.

"What are you doing here?" I ask shocked.

"Who is it going to be me or Peeta." He asks with that sad face. "I don't know." I say confused.

"Gale or Peeta?" He asks.

"I choose me." I yell. He disappears. I put my hands over my head, this is to much to take in.

I wait for the next phase and I end up in District 11. I'm holding a gun. The innocent man they killed when I came here is kneeling in front of me.

"Shoot him." The Peacekeepers command. Killing Innocent people, one of my worst fears. I turn away, closing my eyes and pull the trigger. 'This isn't real.' I open my eyes and I'm at the reaping.

"As usual lady's first." Effie says, she walks over to the reaping bowl and grabs a slip. She walks back to the microphone. "PrimRose Everdeen." She reads. I try to walk to Prim but I can't, I'm stuck. "I volunteer." I try to say, but nothing comes out. By the time my voice comes back, It's to late. She's gone. I push my way through the crowd. I run towards the stage but the Peacekeepers stop me.

"Prim!" I scream.

I wake up and Tris is looking at me concerned.

"Eight and Six." Caleb grins. "Take them back to their cages." He adds. And Tobias and Peeta drag us back to our 'cages.' When they leave, Tris looks at me.

"Fears?" She asks.

"I didn't really understand my fears," I tell her, because I didn't. What does me kissing Gale and Peeta supposed to mean. "The only thing I realized is that I killed everyone."

"It was just a simulation." She tells me.

"No, I technically killed them in real life." I tell her.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

"It's my fault they're all dead." I say, "Peeta is all I basically got."

"Oh." Tris says, "At least you didn't physically kill your friend." She frowns.

"Was that one of your fears?" I ask her. She nods.
