The bright light was too much as compared to the headache I was suffering from. Opening my eyes wide I glanced at the unfamiliar ceiling above me with a chandelier in the middle.

Way too fancy for a public hospital to afford.

It took me proper ten minutes to recall everything that had happened and surviving car accidents weren't something easy to do and with my physic it almost didn't looked possible. "How did I even managed to survive from such a severe hit?" I mumbled as I stretched my body and stood up. I turned my head to notice the medieval themed interior with all the costly furniture and the room itself looked like it can contain ten people approximately.

I didn't used to believe in reincarnation cause those kinda things were always bullshit to me but under the circumstances and the situation that leave no other option but to believe this. "Those novels sound more logical now." I awkwardly laughed to my statement. I took a glance at my hands they looked much paler and softer than my previous ones.

Exactly like the set of beauty & the beast?

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the big wooden door but I just stare at it, clueless of what to do next. This wasn't practically my room so ordering people to come in or not was rude, right?

After some minutes of knocking when the person on the other side didn't got any answers. I then raised a brow to see the door knob rotating.

They had the keys? Maybe that person lives here.

The door opened and a woman in her early twenties wearing something which looked like a maid uniform entered. Her hair was tied in bun as she carried a towel in her hands and stopped right in front of the bed.

"Greetings, milady." Although her presence felt like of an adult instead her voice was anything but mature.

Woah, maybe I did turn into some disney princess.

I stared at the woman in confusion before opening my mouth to answer but shut it again in no time. I can't just assume anything in this situation so to play safe I decided to gather information.

"What is this place?"

"Milady, is there any problem? How come you asked such a silly question!" The woman laughed as if I said the obvious joke to her.

"Can you please tell me the name of this place?" My voice was normal but still it was consumed in authority.

The maid at once stopped laughing and bowed in front of me. The gesture coming from the lady made me curse myself.

"We're in Dalerin Empire and this is the ducal estate, milady." She looked pretty nervous saying those words. That name made it certain that this place wasn't earth but something felt off.

Ducal? This place sure looks like a victorian drama.

"Why am I here-?" Suddenly I noticed a vanity mirror on the other side of the room. I tried to move my limbs to reach it but my legs were kinda wobbly and stiff.

I still tried to walk slow and steady to reach out the mirror and when I was in front of it. I was completely stunned.

The mirror reflected a gorgeous girl with wavy red hair that reached her back and ruby red eyes just like a jewel. The girl looked nearly thirteen or fourteen and that was impressive cause her beauty was breathtaking for her age.

"I remember having a shit appearance." The translation was simple 'who the hell is this.' I grabbed a handful of the red strands attached to my head and so did the reflected image.

The fuck literally is going on!

I immediately turned to face the maid who gave me a weird look before recovering it after realising that I was staring at her.

"Hey! What was my name again?" I was literally yelling at her but boy I give a shit about it.

"Y-your name is Edith Joyce Castilla, my lady." She trembled under my sharp glare as she completed saying that.

Edith Joyce Castilla? The legit antagonist of Engraved to my Fate. Karma truly bites back, doesn't it!

"Are you alright, my lady?" The woman said with concern in her tone.

"I'm okay but can you get me a glass of water?" I sat down on the nearby chair before massaging my forehead gently.

"Sure! I might as well inform the duke about this."

Wait!? What-!?

She ran out of the room in an inhuman speed with leaving me all alone.

"I regret not reading that novel." I sighed as glanced out the window into the blues.

Crying won't help! I need to collect the memories of the plot otherwise I'm dead meat.

The story revolves around Isabella Ambrose, who was the only daughter of Count Ambrose. Isabelle was pampered by her parents and they provided her with everything a child need to grow up with in order to become a kind person. The same happened with Isabella who had a naive, bright and considered personality which filled the hearts of the male leads with warmth.

On the other hand Edith Joyce Castilla was the daughter of Duke Castilla, a man considered colder than ice. Edith grew up without any parental affection since the Duchess left her husband because she found some other man from a different empire and flee with him and after that incident the ducal estate of Castilla became the house of many such infamous rumours. Edith was a smart child but due to not having any guidance she turned in a spoiled brat and as growing up her hunger for attention became vast. Like any other cliché romance novel it also has a concept where the Crown Prince as well as Edith's fiance fell for the protagonist and annuls their engagement with the antagonist throwing tantrums and as the very last option she tried to kill Isabella but got exposed and was sentenced a cruel death.

I need to survive this horrible destiny no matter what.

Some minutes later the same maid arrived with a glass of warm water as I requested her to bring me some paper and pen as well.

"Now let me remember the first event that's coming?" I slammed my one hand onto the study table and clutched the quell pen in the other before starting to write the important dates.

I can't even laze around after dying cause of this god dammit novel won't let me.
