------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alias awoke to the loud snores of Deo, he was smushed by the monsters that had decided to lay on him. Gently, he lifted Imu off his lap, placing the small monster with the other sleeping monsters on the couch. Stretching as he checked his phone, 7:38am, the clock read. A yawn escaped his tinted lips as he made his way to his bathroom, retrieving a new pair of clothes and a fresh towel, he glanced at the pile of dirty clothes he would need to wash soon. With a sigh he headed to the bathroom to take his daily shower.

Once he was done, he brushed his teeth thoroughly, flossing his teeth, and using the little mouth wash he had left. He went to his bank account to see how much money he had left, sighing as he read the number, enough for this month's rent and groceries but he'd need to get a new job very quickly if he wanted to continue living in this apartment and well feeding his new roommates. So that's what he planned to do, but right now they needed groceries.

He got dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans, going out of his room and getting the apartment keys. Taking a note and writing a note for the four monsters as he might be out for a while. Humming, he walked out the door and made his way to the elevator, tapping his foot as he waited for the elevator. Eventually, he got fed up with the elevator, he went and took the stairs down, searching for any part-time job that he could apply for until he found another full-time job.

Now making his way through the bustling sidewalks, people using magic to carry their items as they walked, Alias felt a tinge of jealousy at their use of magic. In this world, magic was common though people usually only had enough mana to carry small items or perform low level spells. There were people who had a high amount of mana to perform high level spells, this caused a lot of inequality between people with low and high levels of mana. It's still a problem but not as much now, a few centuries back people with high amounts of mana didn't have many regulations against magic use which led to high level spells being used against the people who couldn't fight back.

Of course, there has been many laws and regulations of magic, this helped a bit but there was still segregation between low and highs in schools back then, it's been solved a bit now. There's still issues of course but it's getting better at an even pace, much like Alias, there's people born with abnormally low amounts of mana in their bodies. The abnormally low levels of mana usually correlate with having a disability or health issue that someone can be born with, since mana is the basis of all life, such a low amount would cause some problems with the organism and humans are no different.

Alias sighed, he couldn't help but wish he was born with more mana, but it really wasn't a choice, there were ways to increase mana, but it would never be enough to allow him to use magic freely. He didn't want to rely on surgeries and supplements just to do things he can do already, sure magic makes things much easier, but things are getting more accessible for people like him. Making his way to the grocery store, he stepped into the entrance, he grabbed a shopping cart, walking in. Going into the notepad app and going to the grocery list, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as he saw the last few items. The last items were misspelled with weird names instead of brands, he knew instantly who had added the items.
