''Why are you avoiding my questions?''

Everything was a pitch black, it was like slowly falling down into the ocean depths, the uneasy feeling of somethings watching, something circling like a predator on the hunt. Holding breath desperately as he fell further down. A voice, one familiar, spoke out, it was muffled to his ears but as he fell deeper he closed his eyes, still holding his breath but he felt desperate to breathe, but the voice sounded clearer for a split second.
"-Contractor,--"
Alias shot up, panting in a cold sweat as his eyes frantically searched the room. His eyes landed on Mai siting at the edge of his bed, Imu sitting there as well, on a rather concerned Mai's lap. Mai spoke with concern "Are... you okay..?" Mai asked observing Alias closely "You're sweating." Mai reached out and felt Alias's head, checking his temperature. Imu peaked from Mai's lap, very concerned over Alias's health.
"Ah....I'm....I'm alright... But what happened..?" Alias gently pushed Mai's hand away, taking a deep breath to calm himself as he shook his head softly, glancing up at Mai. His mind was filled with thoughts of the dream...
Mai sighed "You fainted randomly after.... Deo revealed his human..-ish form. You've been passed out for a few hours now..." Mai frowned, reaching to the nightstand where Alias could see his phone and a bowl of soup. "You're burning up... You are probably sick."
"I'm fine.." Alias sighed, rubbing his head and trying to get up, only to get pushed back down by Mai.
"We made you soup, so stay and eat it. You still need to rest after all." Mai hummed, placing a soup bowl on Alias's lap, letting him sit up before handing him a spoon and fork.
The smell of warm, delicious chicken noodle soup hit Alias's nose. "You made me soup...?" Alias spoke gently, a feeling of caring warmth came over him, touched by what seemed to be a simple gesture, but he knew these roommates have never made it before so he was glad they put in such effort for him. He took the spoon and fork.
"It was... Deo's idea to make you something." Mai sighed, looking away before looking back at Alias. "Are you sure you feel fine...? No pain or aches?" Mai seemed deeply concerned for Alias's well being despite not always showing it.
"I do feel a little off..." Alias admitted softly "But it's really nothing serious!" He tried to reassure Mai, giving a weak smile, his mind kept going back to his dream... That voice...
"You should rest, you seem troubled and clearly you aren't well." Mai hummed, softly patting Alias's head.
Alias paused before speaking "Hey Mai..." Alias stared at the blanket.
"Yes? What is it?" Mai pet Imu's head softly.
"...Why... Why do Deo and Nai look so similar...? Why do they look like me? You all have met other humans, you all have had other forms so why..." Alias looked up at Mai, eyes determined but pleading all at once.
Mai fell silent, Imu sensing the tension rising, quickly left the room, scurrying off. "They are simply fond of you. That is all."
"...." Alias desperately wanted to believe Mai but deep down, he could tell this was just a lie. "...Mai. Please, just tell me the truth. Tell me why things have gotten worse recently? Ever since I lost my job I've been having more heart issues than before. It's not just the stress, in moments when I feel no stress I have passed out as well. I know you know something-You all have lived for so long you must know something... Anything..." Alias's eyes were filled with a plead for the truth, he wanted to know what was happening.
