I woke up early the sun was barely shining in. I rolled over and Daryl sat at the edge of my bed. My eyes traveled over the scars on his back. He was at his most vulnerable at that moment; he was showering late that night, I walked in as he was getting dressed and I saw them. He froze there for a second, I saw the fear and embarrassment in his eyes. It took convincing but he opened up a little about it, I just didn't push it too far because I saw how uncomfortable it made him just to talk about it.

He glanced over his shoulder just before picking up his shirt from the floor. "Why are you up?"

"I can ask you the same thing." Kneeling behind him, I kissed his bare shoulder gently, he let out a soft groan. "You okay?" I wrapped my arms around his torso, his skin was warm against mine.

"Got a shift."

"This early?"

"Nah, I got a coupl'a hours."

"Come back to bed." I pressed kisses on the side of his neck, "Or is it too early for round two?"

He didn't hesitate to turn over. Hovering over me he leveled his hips with mine and we locked lips to keep quiet.

After spending a good majority of my morning tending to the miniature farm with Maggie and then Rick who joined us a few hours later. I took a much-needed break, I was shoveling so much that my arms were going numb.

I took a soothing shower, then sat inside with Carol as she prepared a bottle for Judith. Michael was sitting on the table in front of me playing with his train. Beth came in holding baby Judith tenderly rocking her.

"Rick coming in? He said he wanted to put Judith down for her nap." Beth asked no one in particular.

"He should be headed over," I answered. "I saw him washing up a little while ago."

"Alright." She threw a small smile in my direction. "Hey, I was wondering if you were going out again any time soon?"

"Yeah. Most likely. Need something?"

"I was hoping you could find me a new journal and maybe a new shirt."

"It'll be the first on my list."

"Thanks," She left going back into the cellblock with the bottle of formula in hand.

"She spends a lot of time caring for Judith." I thought out loud.

"She's a natural. Just like her mother from what Hershel says."

I smiled to myself before a different thought popped up. "The war's coming, I can feel it every time Michonne goes out there looking for him," I shuddered, keeping my voice low to avoid the echo. "Every time she comes back I pray she says she killed him, but every time she doesn't all I see is him walking up to the gate when I go outside."

"We'll be ready," Carol reassured putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I don't want her to fight. Amelia... I don't want her to kill someone but we need numbers."
