Sirius woke up that morning feeling much better. He stretched and got out of bed, wondering if James would be upset with him for leaving him alone in detention. Sirius got dressed as quickly as he could before attempting to talk to anyone.

"OI! PRONGS!" He shouted, hopping out of his bed and whacking the curtains around the next bed, where James was probably sleeping. "OI! PADFOOT!" James's voice answered. "THANKS FOR WAKING ME UP, ARSE!"

Sirius grinned. His friend's tone was not angry. "GET OUT OF BED, PRONGSY! WE'RE GOING TO HOGSMEADE!"

"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP!?" Remus's voice snapped from the other end of the room. He poked his scared face between the curtains and glared furiously at Sirius. "You're standing right next to him!"

"Yes, but he might not hear me through these stifling curtains, Mr. Moony. Besides, you should be getting up as well. I know we were just at Hogsmeade and all...but we didn't go far. Mr. Padfoot wants his Honeydukes treats."

Remus grunted and got out of bed. He too got dressed, and headed toward the door. "Someone wake Wormtail." He muttered. "I'll be going to eat breakfast."

"I've done my job already, I'll come down with you. Prongsy, dear, this is on you."

The curtains were ripped open as James tried to object, but Sirius and Remus were already walking out the door, snickering.

"You think Prongs will be alright, Padfoot?" Remus asked as they walked into the great hall.

Sirius shrugged. "Serves him right for sleeping in. Either way, I need him out of my hair for a good five minutes. I want to speak to Evans."

Remus looked mildly surprised. "Why?"

"Well, Mr. Padfoot figured that Mr. Prongs deserved a date for Hogsmeade, and he would appreciate it if Mr. Moony-" he shot Remus a stern look,
"-wouldn't say anything. He would hate if the surprise was ruined, after all."

Remus shrugged. "I'll be at the table...but what do you want me to tell James if he comes down early?"

"Peter never wakes up in the morning, why should this time be any different?" Sirius asked, raising an eyebrow. Remus shrugged. "Just in case. See you later, Padfoot."

"Of course, Moony."

Sirius scanned the Gryffidor table, searching for Lily Evans' red hair. Eventually he found her, sitting at the end of the table with Anna Lee.

Sirius strolled up behind them, not managing to keep the small grin off of his face.

"OI! EVANS!" He shouted when he was just a few inches behind her. Lily jumped, dropping his fork and spattering the people around her with eggs.

"BLACK!" Lily shouted, fury written on every inch of her pretty face. Sirius grinned stupidly. "Didn't mean to scare you, Evans. Just wanted to ask a little favor." He assured her.

Lily glared at him. "A favor after you scared me half to death? I'm not sure I can find it in my heart, since it was severely bruised as it bumped against my ribs." She snapped.

Sirius shrugged, always the easy going force. "It's really not a favor to me...but to all of us, Evans. Remus and I were hoping you would take James to Hogsmeade, since he's been trying for the last two years. You don't seem to want to listen to him, so why not listen to me?" Sirius added.

Lily huffed. "I'm already going with someone, Sirius." She said, her green eyes blazing. "Oh yeah? With who?" Sirius picked up her untouched glass of pumpkin juice as he spoke, and he took a couple of quick swigs.

"Severus, of course."

Sirius choked on the pumpkin juice. He put down the glass and started coughing and laughing at the same time. "That slimeball? The one who doesn't even know how to wash his own hair? You'd be better off with James, Evans."

"She can like whoever she wants to, you big arse!" Anna snapped, speaking for the first time. Lily nodded, obviously too furious to speak.

"Oh, if you both must speak for him." Sirius drawled, smiling slightly.

Anna's cheeks turned a delicate shade of pink, and Lily's face turned red to match her flaming hair. Sirius was well aware that his attitude was driving the two girls crazy, and e certainly preferred it that way.

"I'll be going back to my friends now." He said, turning to go. He tossed his parting words over his shoulder. "You should consider James, though, Evans. He has good intentions, however it may seem."

"What were you doing over there with Evans?" James asked as Sirius slid onto the bench next to him.

"Why do you ask?" Sirius replied, shoveling piles of food on his plate. "Well, Remus won't tell me!" James snapped. Remus, who had been reading The Daily Prophet, glance up. He folded the paper neatly and clasped his hands, resting his chin on top of them. "I'm sorry, Prongs, but I'm on strict orders not to say a thing." He said regretfully.

Peter, who had had his mouth full, now spoke. "I wouldn't worry about it, James. It's not like Sirius is going to steal your girl." He assured.

James shot Sirius a questioning look. "MR. PRONGS!" Sirius yelled, throwing down his fork and knife. "I AM OFFENDED THAT YOU WOULD EVER THINK SUCH A THING! I'M YOUR BEST MATE!"

James grinned sheepishly. "Alright, alright. I get it. I was just curious."

"S'okay, mate. I'll just go on knowing that I was never apologized too."
"I'm sorry. Are you happy now, you git?"
"Very much, Mr. Prongs, very much."

Sirius, James, Remus, and Peter emerged from Honeydukes laden with treats of all sorts. As they walked down the street toward The Three Broomsticks, Sirius caught sight of a familiar red head, standing beside a familiar greasy one.

"Hey, Prongsy," he whispered. James looked at him and he jerked his head in the direction of the duo.

"What do you say we give Evans a taste of what she's missing out on?" Sirius suggested.

"Meaning?" James questioned.

"We'll walk by," he paused, "and have a lot of fun about it. You ready?"

James ran his hand through his messy hair, as if he could make it look better. Sirius wrapped his arm around James's shoulder and re-messified his hair. "OI! STOP IT PADFOOT!" James roared.

Remus laughed. "You look better this way, mate. Trust me."

"It's not like it can get worse anyway." Sirius added, giving it a good last run-through. Peter laughed.

"Alright, let's go make Evans jealous." Sirius announced, getting a firmer grip on his treats.

The four boys ran at Lily and Severus, all of them smiling. James, because he was about to see his biggest love, and the rest because they were helping their friend achieve his goal: Marrying Lily Evans.
