You heard a familiar voice cry out to you. "(Y/N)!" A bone flew past you and hit the creature. It disappeared, and the bird retreated. "(Y/N), are you ok?" Sans grabbed your arm gently and began to help you up. "Yeah... Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you." Sans chuckled as Azzy and Papy came. "Huh, well... What are friends for, right?" You smiled in response.
"(Y/N) What Happened?! Why Did You Wonder Off? You Knew It Could Be Dangerous In The True Lab!" Still a bit frightened, you follow the boys out of the True Lab. You were about to step into the elevator you came down before, but you heard a faint sound. You turn around and trip. You encountered another monster. This one looked like a small goopy bird with two carrot faces in place of the eyes. It's so cold. You heard Azzy yell at you, but you couldn't hear what he said. You decide to press ACT. You had three options: Joke, Laugh, and Heckle. You press Joke. You faintly heard the bird laugh. "haha... i... remem... ber..."
You felt hope and a pang of sadness in your soul. You dodge the bird's attack even though you still felt shock from the other bird battle. You heard Papyrus and Sans call out to you, but you couldn't understand them. You continue to press ACT. You told a bad pun about snow. The bird's expression changes more. You heard another faint laugh. "haha... thank... you..." You smile and dodge another attack. You told another bad pun about snow. This time the bird started to cry. You faintly heard her speak, but you heard the most heartbreaking sentence you've ever heard.
"my... little boy... s-s... now... ey..." She seemed to calm down. You took the steps to spare the bird. You know understood exactly what an amalgamate is. They were once monsters. They had gotten sick, and Alphys tried to help. She failed, and locked these creatures down here. Alphys might have told their families they had died. These poor souls... they don't deserve this...
The battle ended and the mother dragged herself away. A single tear rolled down your face as you stood in silence. "Hey guys... Who's Alphys?" You had to confirm it. That Scientist caused so much pain to the innocent beings. Azzy answered your question painfully.
"She's a friend of ours, but don't be mad at her! She did this for a reason. I'm sure of it!" You appreciate Azzy trying to lighten the mood, and trying to find a positive in this, but this is wrong.
"She left all of these monsters, down here... Alone... hungry... And she told their families that they were dead... while she's on the surface... having fun and laughing with her friends and family..." You turned to look at the boys with a confused teary face. Papy frowned while Azzy glared at the ground with a clenched jaw. Sans stared at you blankly with a strait face. No smile, no frown, nothing special about his face, but his eye lights revealed that he silently agreed with you. Even if he didn't want to say it.
"Dr. Alphys Might Have Done Some Questionable Things, But She Jas Also Done Good For The Underground." You hugged yourself and looked down to your feet with a sniffle. You took deep breaths as the boys came closer to hug you. You chuckled sadly and wiped your tears.
"Sorry. It's just sad to see these monsters stuck down here. " Azzy nodded with a small reply. "Its okay (Y/N). We get it."
