March 6th.
Somewhere far from Oasis.

In the dusty pages of an ancient book, I discovered a word that perfectly encapsulates the complexities of my emotions at this moment.

“Saudade,” echoed in my mind, a Portuguese word that weaves a web of melancholy and deep nostalgia for something or someone loved but absent. This word is a whisper in the wind, an echo of longing that clings to the repressed knowledge that what is longed for may never return, as if it had faded into the mist of time or even died.

Having shared my time with a man like Alex, the depths of love were revealed to me, showing how much he was willing to sacrifice in the name of that bond. The butterfly incident, just a few days ago, marked a shift in our destiny.

After that event, the marks on my hand healed quickly. It was then that, with a smile on his face, Alex urged me to close my eyes and trust him.
As I obeyed, a delicate breeze caressed my clothes and hair, as if they were threads of a spell in the air. Time became ethereal, immersing me in a magical sensation. I didn’t know how long that enchanted moment lasted; I only opened my eyes when Alex instructed me, revealing before me a world transformed by magic.

“Wow!” my awe escaped at the spectacle unfolding before my eyes. “What wonder is this place?”

“This is Oasis, Amelie,” Alex replied with excitement. “I consider it my home. Here, the few inhabitants of Sajor gather, protected by illusory barriers we have erected. It’s as if this corner is completely invisible to the rest of the world.”

“So, Glass doesn’t...?” I asked with fear.

“No, he can’t enter here,” he asserted with determination. “Unless one of us grants permission, just as I have done with you.”

“What a relief to hear that!” I exhaled, releasing the tension. “This is truly a surprise.”

“This is only a part of the surprise,” Alex clarified with a warm smile, extending a hand. “If you accompany me, you’ll discover the rest of this marvel.”

I took Alex’s hand, letting myself be guided through every step in this astonishing place that resembled a small village nestled in a forest clearing. In the heart of this place, a square surrounded by small structures serving as homes for the residents.

Alex greeted everyone cheerfully, and my eyes got lost in the enchanting scene. Children played with their pets near the square, practicing the art of Tylko, while adults tried to master mystical arts alongside them. What a surprisingly different experience from everything I knew!

Suddenly, several people approached, giving me a warm welcome with hugs and calling me by my name. The situation felt strange, so I sought Alex’s gaze.

“Everyone here was eagerly awaiting your arrival,” he explained. “It’s always like this when we encounter one of our own.”

Relieved, I returned the greetings warmly and followed Alex toward a small house at the end of the square. Upon entering, I was surprised to notice the familiarity of the small room. The enormous wall clock from my home, the vase with white lilies that my mother used to cut every morning, and furniture in a pine green that felt so familiar. It was like being in my own living room, but it wasn’t my home.

Suddenly, my mother’s sweet voice echoed in the room.

“Amelie, my princess! You’re finally here!”

From an impulse, I let go of Alex’s hand and ran swiftly into my mother’s arms. It was a long and immense hug, while my mind struggled to comprehend what was happening. Beside her was my father, and I couldn’t resist embracing him deeply.
