Peter Rabbit's Big Adventure

The lying babysitter

It was a beautiful morning in the forest, when somewhere in a tree that was home to a family of rabbits, Josephine Rabbit (voiced by Veronica Taylor) was doing some cooking. Josephine: "Peter dear, come here at once." said the adult rabbit, before her son, Peter Rabbit (voiced by Cam Clarke), who wears a blue jacket, comes to the scene. Peter: "Yes, mother?" Josephine: "I'm going off to the store to collect some vegetables, I'll probably be back by the end of the day, so until then, you're in charge of watching the girls." Peter: "What?, but I'm supposed to hang out with my cousin today." Josephine: "Then let the girls join you and Benny." Peter: "But mother..." Josephine: "No buts, as you're the only man around here, you have to be responsible." Peter: "Man... I wished dad was here..." Josephine: "I know dear... I miss him too, but I know that he'll want you to be more responsible when you're old enough, and the girls would need someone to protect them." that was when a trio of young female rabbits came to the scene. The first with a red cloak was Flopsy, the second with a yellow cloak was Mopsy, and the third with the green cloak was Cottontail (All three voiced by Debbie Derryberry), and all three were Peter's younger sisters. Flopsy: "What was that about protecting us?" Peter: "Oh it's nothing." said Peter, before his left ear drooped. Josephine: "Peter, I can tell you're lying, for every time you tell a fib, your left ear droops." Peter: "It does not." said Peter, before his ear drooped again. Mopsy: "Come on Peter, you shouldn't lie so much." Cottontail: "Yeah, I heard that liars always end up being all alone and nobody trusts them again." Peter: "Hey, I don't lie all the time." Flopsy: "No, just a lot of times." Peter: "Do not!" Josephine: "Now children, please don't fight with one another, just watch out for each other while I'm gone, promise me that, okay?" Peter: "...Yes mother." Josephine: "Good rabbit, now remember, you're in charge, and stay out of trouble." said Josephine, before she left the tree to go shopping, leaving Peter alone with his sisters. Flopsy: "Okay, now what?" Peter: "I don't know about you, but I like to hang out with Benny." Cottontail: "Don't forget about us." Mopsy: "Yeah, be happy Peter, we're gonna have lots of fun!" Peter: "Oh how could I possibly have fun babysitting?" said Peter, before bumping into another rabbit who came to the scene. The bunny that was brown colored was in fact Benjamin Bunny (voiced by Jeff Bennett), or Benny for short, who happens to be Peter and his sisters' cousin. Benny: "What was that about babysitting?" Peter: "Benny!, oh uh... it's nothing." Flopsy: "Oh come on, don't lie to Benny, mother told you to babysit us until she gets back." Benny: "So... you're in charge?" Peter: "Yeah... but it means that I have to keep an eye on them." Benny: "Well it could've been worse, I mean you could have been forced to babysit a monster." Peter: "Oh come on, babysitting a monster isn't really hard, I do it all the time." Cottontail: "No you don't, you never even seen a monster." Peter: "Do so." said Peter, who's left ear drooped again. Benny: "Well whatever, I saw some yummy carrots grown in Mr McGregor's garden." Peter: "Really?, then let's go there." Flopsy: "Hold on, you're not supposed to go there." Mopsy: "Especially after the last time you went there." Cottontail: "Yeah, you nearly got turned into a pie by Mr McGregor and your jacket was used for a scarecrow." Benny: "Oh yeah... I forgot about that." Peter: "Don't worry, I'll be a lot more careful this time." Flopsy: "But you're supposed to be watching us." Peter: "Then you girls come along." Cottontail: "What makes you think we should go there?" Peter: "Well mother put me in charge, which means you have to do what I tell you, right?" Flopsy: "...Right." Peter: "Good, now let's go." said Peter, as he, his sisters and Benny went off to Mr. McGregor's garden.
