The place where Jinang woke up in was an abandoned hotel in an abandoned city on the planet Rutanda. It's a frontier planet in the outer rim near Ryloth and Tatooine, covered in red deserts and enormous canyons. This abandoned city was supposed to be a huge marketplace for rich folk, filled with exotic shops, casinos and fancy clubs. But it was too ambitious and just didn't work out, so the city was abandoned before completion. Now, a humanitarian organization from the Pantoran system working for the "Izanami corporation" is hold up here, and they've converted a hotel by the edge of the city into a hospital. The Izanami corporation is an extremely powerful and influential super corporation from Ryloth, worth over one-and-a-half-trillion credits. And they've moved their humanitarian Pantoran branch into the outer rim on Rutanda to expand the reach in that area. But Rutanda and the other territories they're operating in is very dangerous, and so a group of mercenaries calling themselves the "Harrowers" were hired to protect them. They are professionals with a nearly impossibly high success rate, but they are also considered to be very dangerous to anyone involved with them. But Tanner hasn't complained much about their presence, as they've kept him and his daughter safe and secure. The doctor's daughter helps out with Jinang's recovery process, and she's very fond of him. She's very enthusiastic as well, which has boosted Jinang's spirits a little bit.
One of the leaders of the Harrowers was named Koga, but he went by Acklay, nicknamed after the ferocious crustaceans from Vendaxa. He was the man that Jinang was fighting on Felucia before they were both injured in a separatist bombing. Koga was still conscious, but Tanner explained that the sudden, obsessive damage to his mostly cyborg body caused irreparable harm to his brain as it couldn't cope with the body's destruction. He was going to die without any chance of survival, so in his last moments he donated whatever parts Jinang needed in order for the Jedi to survive. Though, the only thing he needed was the spine and some synthetic back muscles. This story is painful and confusing for Jinang to hear because his memories are from the perspectives of both the Jedi and the mercenary. He sees what they saw, thought what they thought. It's like he gave himself the spine, sharing a consciousness with two individuals. It's a surreal feeling that he cannot comprehend. However, as the physical therapy continues and he starts developing a friendship with Tanner and his daughter, he makes new memories to try and focus on. New memories that are his. Whoever he may be now.
Jinang is sitting on the edge of his bed in his hotel/hospital room, and Tanner's daughter is sitting next to him, braiding his hair for him. He's gotten back enough strength to sit up straight, mostly because his new spine is so much stronger than his human one was, but he has no dexterity in his fingers and lifting his arms is such a task that he can't even braid his own hair. The doctor's daughter is a little Pantoran girl with pink hair in a ponytail, and she is wearing a short-sleeved, pink top with blue overalls and a frumpy brown hat.
"There you go!" She says, finished braiding Jinang's hair into two big braids. "The braids look so much cuter!""Thanks." Jinang says in a low, somber tone. "You're a good kid."
Tanner suddenly enters the room, with some flowers and some food.
"Someone got you flowers." The doctor said enthusiastically, setting them on the table next to Jinang's bed. "And I've brought you your dinner.""Who are the flowers from?" Jinang asked, looking at pretty red and white flowers from Naboo. "I don't see a tag."
"I'm not sure either." Tanner answered, sitting on the side of Jinang's bed as the little patient sits up against the backboard and the wall. "You're getting to be quite popular though."
Jinang can't even eat on his own. Just grabbing a fork is too difficult, so Tanner has to help with that as well, cutting his food and feeding it to him. The lack of control over his own body is terrifying. Feeling so vulnerable. Jinang is incapable of feeding himself, and he can't even bathe or go to the bathroom without Tanner's help. It's not just scary but it's humiliating. He can't stand it... But on the bright side, Tanner is very patient with Jinang, as well as kind and gentle.
The view outside of Jinang's suite is of a canyon in the red desert, which he has exclusively seen through the window so far. He actually left his suite the entire time he's been awake from the coma.
"I want so fresh air." He says after finishing his food, still speaking with dull tone. "I want to go outside."
