Since its been a minute(more like a year and a half), allow me to refresh your memory and quickly get you up to speed with the story. Feel free to reread the whole thing again(I personally recommend it), but you're probably not up for that so here goes. (This may be a long one, you might as well reread the last couple of chaps in my opinion lol).

Daria(main character) is a werewolf and a witch, meaning she has werewolf abilities and magical powers. She has unique eyes. They change colour depending on her emotions. Only supernatural beings can see them however, unless she allows you to see, or, as we've seen in the hospital, she has no control over it. Dari is also a werewolf princess and her father's firstborn, meaning she'll be Queen one day. She's not her mom's biological daughter, though. She is the daughter of a witch, hence her magical powers, one her father was involved with at a time, regardless that it was forbidden.

Despite her heritage, Daria have been told that the witches want nothing to do with her. In fact, they want her dead. When threats put her life in danger, she was sent to live with humans in America and she stayed there for a year and a half. There, she made friends and fell in love with a boy named Taylan.

The night after she and Taylan sleeps together for the first time ever, she “triggers” her werewolf curse for the first time and she ends up in the hospital. Taylan is beside himself and frustrated with the doctor who can't give him a clear answer as to what's wrong with his girlfriend. Alison(Ali/Alice), Dari's bsf, is worried and blaming herself for her state. Alison's parents tries to calm them down. Dari wakes. Her parents arrives shortly after and declares that she is to go home with them. Another significant thing happens: her mate came with her parents and it is none other than the Alpha she thought thought nothing of her.

Thus starts the anger outbursts and nervous breakdowns and haywire-magic-power-trips. She finds out that Micah knew for five years that he was her mate yet continued ignoring, belittling and, at times, disrespecting her. Micah remains stoic when she lashes out at him but we see a smidge of jealous-Alpha-mate peek through when Dari taunts him with her relationship with Taylan.

Between the chaos of the mate-revelation and the curse-triggering, Dari comes to the realisation that her whole life is about to change and she has very little say in it.

Long story short, she has an emotional farewell with her friends. Taylan comes over that night and she poisons their last kiss with a spell, basically telling him to not attempt to look for her, to accept what they had was special but over. She's heartbroken, of course, because, you know, to be loved is to be changed and whatnot.

Fast forward two weeks later, she's back at her Kingdom, she has reunited with her darling brothers and getting used to how things are done again since she's been gone for so long. As much as she missed the Kingdom and enjoys spending time with her brothers, she can't help but feel resentment toward her parents because they lied about her mate.

One day at breakfast, Daria's father summons her to his study and lo and behold, the Alpha is there too. Her father leaves them to talk, claiming that he only has her best interests at heart but shhe has a hard time believing it. Especially when she finds papers on her father's desk that indicates that Micah possibly did this for assets. Things get heated fast, and the chapter ends where emotions run high and tempers, specifically Daria's, overwhelms her so much that her magic goes haywire and everything goes dark.
