Chapter 7 : Back at This Village

A new day begins in Belzerg, and the citizens of Axel woke up to do their everyday work. The adventurers went out to do quests or took a day off, and that's the case for two of them. These two adventurers were still sleeping together in the same bed, like they usually do. Sleeping together is their favourite thing to do in their daily life.

Megumin is the first to wake up. She slept so well that night she didn't even move from the position she was when she fell asleep. She sits up and stretches out her arms in the air while she lets out a small yawn. "What time is it?" She asked herself, looking at the window.

Kazuma is still asleep next to Megumin, trying to get back his cuddling partner close to him. Megumin takes a glance at the boy lying next to her and thought to herself: they have plans for today, so they have to prepare their stuff for when they'll go visit the Crimson Magic Village. 

She gets close to his face and tries to wake him up. "Kazuma, wake up. We need to prepare our luggage. Come on, wake up." She said to the boy, poking his cheek with her finger, trying to get his attention.

Instead of waking up, Kazuma instinctively grab her around the back and pull her closer. She was now stuck in his embrace and couldn't escape it. Not only that, he turns himself on his side and uses his other arm to hold her like if he was giving her a warm and tight hug. She was a bit confused at first, but who could deny such a sweet hug from him. Now, instead of trying to get out of this situation, she accepts his affection and hugs him back.

Their sweet moment got interrupted by someone who was knocking on the door. Who could knock on someone's door in the morning? Megumin tried to get herself out of Kazuma's hug and made it out without upsetting him in the process. She reaches the door and opens it up to the least expected person she could've thought.

"Good morning, Aqua." She told and confused to see her in front of Kazuma's room.

"Good morning, Megumin. I hope I'm not disturbing." She said still in her pyjama.

"Not really."

"Good to know. Do you mind if you talk to him for a moment? It won't take too long." Aqua asked her.

"Well, Kazuma hasn't woke up yet, and when I tried to wake him, he grabbed me and hugged me instead, so it won't be easy to wake him up." Megumin explained.

"I see. I guess what I have to say to him can wait a little bit."

"Yeah. If you want, I could let him know when he wakes up that you want to talk to him."

"I would really appreciate it, thanks. By the way, do you guys want to go on a quest today? It's been a few days since we haven't been on a quest all together."

"Actually, me and Kazuma have already planned to visit my parents this afternoon, so I'm sorry to say no for this one."

"Really? It's been a while since we haven't been in the Crimson Magic Village. Maybe we could all go there and say hi to your mom and dad and your little sister." 

"I am really sorry, Aqua, but we initially planned to go there, just the two of us. Maybe some other time we could go back there all together but not today, sorry."

"I see. Anyway, let me know when Kazuma is awake before you guys go to the village. Have a good trip, you two." Aqua said before leaving.

"Thank you and don't worry him, I'll let him know about you." Megumin replied before closing the door behind her.

She lets out a sigh before heading back to the bed where Kazuma still sleeps in. She sits next to him and stares at his sleepy face, wondering what he would be dreaming about. She then decides to stroke his hair, hoping for at least a reaction coming out of him. He didn't wake up, but he smiled instead.
