Amaya's POV
"Amaya my love." Felix teases gently at my fingers before placing their tips to his lips. "You get more beautiful each time I come home."
I smile as my heart beats loudly for him.
"Then maybe you're not home enough." Speaking in a seducing whisper I watch up at him with eyes of innocence.
His hunger for me plagues him.
I already can smell a summer of romance.Oh how I have missed him.
"Soon." He gently caresses the skin of my cheek as he tilts my chin towards his view.
"Two years of Oxford down, two more to go."My hands lay on the waist of his chiseled slim body as I take a finger to run down the buttons of his linen shirt and prominent abs.
"And then I'll be home at Saltburn, yours for good."
Felix finishes and leaves me with a generous kiss.
"I'm going to show Ollie here his room for the entirety of his stay, and then I'll be introducing him to the rest of the family, are you coming?"Noticing Oliver's inappropriate watchful eyes and still pondering about his unexpected kiss to the back of my knuckles, I decline.
"No no! You two go ahead, I'm going to check in with Mum and see if she needs any assistance in the kitchen.""Ah! Give Chef Jocelyn my love will you?"
Felix sighs dramatically. "God knows I've missed her cooking while at Uni."I chuckle. "I'm sure you did!"
As Felix and I part ways, his guest continues with his lingering eyes.
I hate to be suspicious but his beady stare brings chills up my spine..
I sure hope he is a genuine friend to my Felix.Checking in with mother, I prop myself upon the white marbled counter as she bakes a welcome home cake for Felix and Farleigh.
Freshly rinsed and sliced strawberries tempt me as I steal a few before Mum uses the rest for a decorative embroider on the trim of the cake."Mm! For me?!" Farleigh sneaks up on us both as he whips his elongated finger across the butter cream icing of the cake.
My eyes instantly light up before I hop into his arms.
"Farleigh!""Hello my secluded princess!" He playfully teases.
I roll my eyes. "Don't call me secluded! Although you're quite right.."
"When will you come up to Oxford to stay!!" He argues.
"Amaya you're missing out.""Farleigh." Mother eavesdrops as she spatulas away the swipe of stolen icing on her cake.
"The residue of coke is still on your nose my love..
My Amaya is not coming up to Oxford with you boys."Farleigh quickly wipes his nose.
"Sorry Chef Jocelyn.. it was a hell of an End of the Semester party last night.
Found myself snorting it off of some random girl's hand..
You're probably right, Amaya should stay here at Saltburn."Mum and I begin to chuckle.
The Catton boys are truly a mess, yet mother loves them as if they were her own and I have known them since I can remember."Speaking of Oxford.."
I cross my arms overthinking in curiosity. "This Oliver Quick.. You became friends with him as well in Uni? Could you tell me more about him?""God no." Farleigh deeply drags onto his smoke.
"He's a little creep if you ask me, I had a tutoring session with him and it was miserable.
He's a nerdy little charity case of Felix's.
He and Felix became inseparable after Oliver offered him his bike one day when Felix's suddenly went flat..
Next thing you know he starts to hang around us and he clearly doesn't fit in.
However he kisses Felix's arse so well that he just keeps him around, following him like a little puppy.
Apparently Oliver has a drunk mother and an abusive alcoholic father who just recently died.
Oliver didn't want to go home to the trauma during summer so Felix took pity on him and invited him to Saltburn to spend it with us.
The little shit is probably creaming his pants staying the summer in such luxury, he's never had it so good.""I'm sorry to hear about his father and his home life.."
I furrow slightly in guilt.
"However I am getting extremely odd vibes from him."Farleigh sighs. "I'm sure it won't be the last time love.. We've got three months with the creep.
God, he just doesn't belong here! He's not family!""Well neither am I.."
I argue becoming slightly glum at the thought."Oh please!" Farleigh smacks his teeth.
"You and Chef Joss are a part of Saltburn as much as I am!"He sighs as he recalls the most recent turmoil happening here in the family.
"Although recently, that isn't saying very much. I haven't felt a part of this house in such a long while."Farleigh being only a nephew/cousin, he feels out of place at times..
To provide for himself and his mother, he constantly has to ask his aunt and uncle, the masters of Saltburn for funding and inheritance.
Not only does he feel ostracized by not being a Catton sibling, but he's also part American and most noticeably.. half black.I like to believe that Farleigh enjoys the companionship of Saltburn's employees because he familiarizes himself with the idea of not being completely in the family..
He especially enjoys time with Mother and I being that we are both black. I'm sure it is comforting for him to be around people that live in the same skin as himself for a moment or two.I console Farleigh and gently rub his back.. being ostracized is a far too much of a familiar feeling.
"Farleigh darling, I love you, I promise I do." Mum begins while pausing her decorative frosting of the cake.
"But I'd really rather my cake to not have the taste of a pack of Marlboro reds! Take the smoking out of my kitchen dear!"Watching Farleigh get into trouble I begin to laugh at his expression of shock.
Farleigh nearly argues before Mum shuts him down with her stern eyes.
He scoffs dramatically.
"Fine Chef Joss, only because I love you!"
