Taeyang's first week goes by almost too quickly, but surprisingly well.
The little man has gotten used to his daycare schedule with a lot less tears than Jisung was expecting him to at first. Being around the other kids is something he is still not quite used to, but Minho said he is usually fine as long as Jeongin and or Minho are in sight, which is all the time anyway. So that is not an issue. He is still quiet, but occasionally talks to one of his teachers whenever he needs something or asks for one of them to give him drawing utensils. Yuna and Hajoon tend to sit with him then and also draw a little bit.
Jisung was expecting his son's tendency to keep to himself and draw to become some sort of issue, was scared the teachers would tell him something is wrong with Taeyang for not wanting to interact much with others or play outside all the time. Jisung's mother made sure to tell him many times that maybe he should have him checked because of it, just to be sure nothing is wrong with him. But Jisung knows nothing is. She is simply worried, scared that maybe there could be something they are missing now because she never went to get Jisung checked either when he was little and Jisung is sure she has regretted doing so ever since.
His parents might have accepted him at some point, but he knows they had wished he was different at times. Yet Jisung knows he would not ever wish for Taeyang to be any different than he is. Because he is the best thing to ever happen to him.
The only tears that are being spilled are usually whenever Jisung would come to pick him up, the moment he notices his father's presence and lets go of whatever he is doing to run into Jisung's arms, cry while he is being lifted up and held in a loving embrace. He does not cry for long and does so less every single day and Jisung is incredibly proud of him and his bravery. Taeyang is doing great so far and it is helping Jisung tremendously.
He still talks more at home or at Collision than he does at daycare. But what has Jisung and his friends especially excited are all the new words and phrases he has picked up from his peers. Felix has been especially cute with his reactions, always a little squeal clearly audible within his overall excitement. He also never fails to brag to Chan and Changbin about how he was the one chosen as Taeyang's emergency contact and not them. They take it with humor though, find Felix extremely adorable.
Everything is great at the moment, really. Everything is just like Jisung had always hoped it would be.
Apart from one thing, but that one is on Jisung. Completely his own issue.
"Dada!"
An excited Taeyang drops, no, pretty much throws his pencils onto the table and immediately abandons his teacher by his side to run into his father's arms. Jisung squats down just in time, his heart shaped smile not fading the slightest bit when he catches his son in his arms and stands while hugging him tightly.
"Ah, ah, how was your day, Tae? Was it nice?", he asks, leans back to look at his son's face. Taeyang nods. "Yeah? I saw you were painting today, so that's really exciting."
"There.", the boy says, his tiny finger pointing to his backpack and the space above, in which Jisung can already see his painting just waiting to be picked up. He looks up at the abandoned teacher at the table, who approaches them right then with that stunning smile of his Jisung is just far too weak for. He gulps down his nervousness as best as possible, only catches the briefest glance of the rest of the room and realizes immediately that he is in fact the last one to pick his child up today. Which in return means that Jeongin must have already gone home and Minho only stayed because Taeyang was still there.
"Hi.", he says, "I'm sorry I'm late... had to work on something very important with the boys and we lost track of time and you had to stay longer because of me and I -"
