“With the recent report on the Burmen case, the court seems to draw against their favour  with a huge turn of events since the past two hearings. The story really took a twist!” I spoke looking straight into the camera, a microphone attached to my left ear, as the cameraman kept rolling his camera in different angles, flares of victory danced in my eyes, hinting nothing but satisfaction yet my face portrayed professionalism. “As for today the last hearing of Burmen’s case, there could be an end to the company with a huge loss of 50 million dollars, and an official apology to the victim, will they compensate the latter?” With that question I left my audience guessing the possibilities…

I got a quick break as the culprit, Burmen took his high-priced time to accept his defeat. “A scoundrel like him should be behind the bars.” Ross, my camera person spoke his thoughts out, with disdain written all over his face.

Burmen, CEO and the only heir to JK empire, aged 60 and never acting like it, was a scoundrel wrapped in expensive suits and bathed in rich cologne. Out of his many weaknesses one was the reason why he ended up in the court, accused of molestation against a twenty two years old girl.

“After all there’s a stop for bad deeds.” I shrugged, fixing my earpiece. Soon the man himself walked out of the courtroom, in a complete suit, and a dejected face. Wrinkles spread like branches throughout his cheeks, while several reporters flocked around him, ready to besiege Burmen by their vicious tongues and sharp grilling questions.

“Mr. Burmen, what would you do now? Is your company going bankrupt??” One of the reporter asked, sticking his microphone out. Burmen’s face turned crimson trying to hide behind  his grey bodyguard yet no steel armour could shield him from the whips of our tongues today.

“Who will look after your empire? Are you still eligible to face your family? How are you going to face them?” Another reporter shoot his question. A sullen face and piercing eyes was the only answer from his side, lips as tight as a jar’s lid bottling every heinous ingredient inside.

“Since your silence is speaking the unspeakable, are you now going to change for a good?” a challenging darting question hung in the air breaking his shell finally, tearing the small wall of patience he was carrying. I smirked when he turned around and cast a glance of disdain mixed with patriarchy towards me. If not me, someone would definitely know it was their end.

“The world is really filled with stubborn women.” He spoke gritting his teeth, anger dripped from the wrinkling folds of his chin, yet Burmen knew when to pick his fights, and now wasn’t the wise choice of time, soon he scurried away the scene and another figure emerged out from the door. His lawyer, born and brought up with two Cs, Charming and Cunning, he didn’t take another glance, walking straight towards his car.

Burmen left the premises so did the crowd leaving the space behind back to the empty concrete. Finally a breathing time as the old hag had been making us run for scoops every now and then and now that his downfall was served, there were many such Burmens hiding behind their white and clean collars.

“Rev! You really know how to rile these people up” Ross laughed at my audacity.

Flashing my cheeky smile I walked ahead knowing how I always carried my audacity with pride. “Trust me, I enjoy it as much as you do.” I added
