His lips touched my own, short and gentle, like a faded dream. It felt exactly like I'd imagined it after all these years.

For so long.

"I love you, Luce," He whispered. "And I think I always have."

My heart skipped a beat, and I drew a quick breath, for I feared that if I spoke I'd only embarrass myself.

"But..." I began, hesitantly. He leaned closer, cutting me off. "Let's go inside," He said, cutting me off with a slight smirk.

(???)

My phone buzzed.

'It's happened'.

I smiled. All according to plan.

(Lucy's P.O.V.)

I woke up early, buzzing with excitement. 6:54AM; the house was unusually quiet. I was just glad we hadn't run into Lis last night--she'd already fallen asleep. Natsu was, as of now, sleeping as well.

I hoped to get out of the house with just as much luck.

"Mmhmm~" I hummed to myself as I brushed my hair, a favorite pastime of mine. Everything seemed so perfect.

"Lucy." The voice was quiet, but hid a silent anger. "Never expected you to be back so soon."

"Lis," I greeted with just as much enthusiasm, somewhat frightened though I would never show it. "Did you and Natsu have fun last night?" The question was simple--the answer not so much.

"Yah, we did, if you cross out the whole Levy fainting thing," I said wryly, turning around from her already perfect hair--although I was using the only brush in the house and she'd just woken up. None of it was fair.

"Oh, I see. I thought you all did something else but...it seems like I was wrong." She smiled, and her now long hair seemed to float behind her as she glided out the door, my hum-filled mood now gone.

(Levy's P.O.V.)

Sun wafted through our curtains, though I couldn't quite get up.

Something, or someone, was holding me down.

Or rather their arm.

"Gajeel!" I cried, trying to wriggle from his seemingly iron grasp he had on my waist. "Oi, Shrimp..." He mumbled, drowsy. "Go back to sleep."

"Didn't you get any sleep last night?" I asked, glancing at our digital clock that, in its digital green letters clearly read, 8:34AM.

"No, not really," He grumbled as he rolled over to his side, trying to pull me with him.

Unfortunately, the bed wasn't big enough.

"GAJEEL!" I screamed, and this time he jerked upwards, pulling me up before I hit the floor. Defensively, I clung to his arm like a little girl. "Y'know Shrimp, you feel lighter then normal..."

"Hey!" I whined at his supposed jest. But then I noticed his eyes; furrowed with worry, and I couldn't help but feel my throat clench. "I'm fine, Gajeel. Promise." I said with a wink as I slipped on my wedding ring, which normally made me feel better. Today, it didn't seem to work.

"Don't worry, Gajeel, alright?" I whispered as I placed the ring back in it's plush box on my beside table. "I'll go make some morning tea."

"Eh, while you're up, don't forget about--"

"Your black coffee, no sugar. I know."

He smiled, the soft, appreciative smile that you wouldn't expect to get from such a rough looking man. "Thanks, Lev."
