"Lis, why did you lie to me? To all of us?"

"Natsu, what do you mean?" Lisanna asked, each word sounding shaken as Natsu pressed on. "I found out, Lis, so it's game over. I just thought you were different than everyone else."

Lisanna extended a sympathetic arm, trying to get a word in. "Natsu, please-"

"While Lucy was gone I realized something."

"Lucy?" Lisanna scowled, expression void and blank with lack of emotion.

"She's different than you. She's kind and caring and most of all, Lis, she loves me."

"Isn't that what you thought about me, Natsu?" Lisanna hissed. "Or have you already forgotten?"

~FLASHBACK~

'It was quiet, the normal gentle evening breeze had subsided, a warm moon glow shone through thin clouds. She lay there under the stars with him, and at once all of her worried had settled. She loved him. She loved-'

"Oi, Lis!"

"N-Natsu!" I squeaked in alarm, hastily shutting my notebook, pen now resting on the grass. "Sorry...you startled me," I said, regaining my usual cold composure.

Natsu frowned. "Why are you always so sad?" He questioned with a slight tilt of his head, worry seeping into his tone.

"I'm not...sad," I protested, cheeks puffed out in annoyance. "Just confused."

"Confused?" He echoed, sitting down beside me.

"It's a long story..." I grumbled, turning away from him, suddenly self conscious.

I felt someone touch my hand, and I jerked up in surprise. "Wha-" When I turned around, Natsu was nose-to-nose with me, a soft smile caressing his face.

"It's okay," He assured. "It's okay if you don't want to talk, for I will. Lis...I have something I've needed to tell you. For a while."

~FLASHBACK~

(Lucy's P.O.V.)

"FINALLY!" Levy shouted. "It is about damn time!" Erza added, grinning.

"Wha--"

"Omigosh, Lu-Chan, you have no idea how Natsu was like when you were gone. Of course, Natsu told us not to tell you anything...actually threatened us...but since you brought it up--"

"He was a mess," Erza bluntly stated, grim.

"He was definitely different. Almost always trying to get out of his house, and the only time he was probably genuinely happy was when he was with Furin."

Suddenly, I felt overwhelmed with guilt. Whenever I pictured Natsu I thought of a friendly, happy, pink...guy.

"Wow," I whispered, not-so-happy anymore.

"Yah," Levy agreed. "It was definitely wow."

"But all the more reason we're glad you're back!" Erza cheered. "Ooo, I think I smell our food."

~
(???)

My cellphone chirped, and I jolted awake in alarm.

'She's back.'

A/N: Super short update! Can't really think of much else to write, so the series will soon be coming to an end.
