Location: Brandon's House, Brandon's Room

Characters:

• Brandon: Discomforted, annoyed.

• Brandon's Father: Mocking, insensitive.

Time of Day: Evening.

[The scene opens in Brandon's room. Brandon is at his desk, looking distracted. His father enters without knocking, a teasing but harsh tone in his voice.]

Brandon's Father: "Brandon, I've been thinking. You and that Tyler kid, you've been doing 'things,' huh? Just tell me you're the top, right? I can’t have a submissive son, haha."

[Brandon turns around, visibly discomforted and annoyed by his father's comment. His response is laced with frustration.]

Brandon: "Dad, that’s none of your business. And it's not a joke. This is my life, not some macho game."

[His father, undeterred by Brandon's discomfort, continues with a mocking laugh.]

Brandon's Father: "Come on, it's just a bit of fun. But seriously, you’ve got to be the man in this, right?"

[Brandon stands up, facing his father with a mix of anger and exasperation.]

Brandon: "Being a 'man' isn't about being top or bottom, Dad. It's about respect and love. Something you might not understand."

[His father looks taken aback by Brandon’s seriousness, his mocking demeanor fading slightly.]

Brandon's Father: "I'm just saying, don’t be weak. You know how the world is."

[Brandon, feeling a mix of sadness and frustration, replies with a firm tone.]

Brandon: "Maybe it's time the world, and you, start changing. I'm not going to be ashamed of who I am or who I love."

[His father, now unsure how to respond, leaves the room with a dismissive wave. Brandon sits back down, deep in thought about his father's words and his own identity.]
