Trey's tart-y (Book 1 Ch 14)

We finally made it to the kitchen "Ah, you're finally back! Took ya long enough." Trey nodded at Ace's statement "Let's get this tart-y started!" you blinked a few times then put the bags on the counter and walked over to Trey and put a hand on his shoulder "Trey, Sweetheart I'm saying this as a friend.....please wait to make dad jokes until you are a dad " you looked his straight in the eyes then you both burst into laugher "Sure i will keep that in mind" Trey said while laughing. the dumbass trio looked at each other and shrugged. then you all just went back finish the tart 

"Okay, now we just sprinkle on a little powdered sugar, and..." Grim and Ace interrupted trey to excitedly say "Finished!" Deuce on the other end was having a existential crisis  "Fin...ished..." 'poor Deuce...but he had to know' Ace Looked at Deuce and then back at you "Did something happen to him while you were shopping?" "just leave him be Ace...he has a lot to process " you said then looked back at deuce "For sixteen years, I was so sure..." Ace just shrugged "Yeah, whatever. I'm pretty beat. Making tarts sure takes it outta you."

Then Cater came into the kitchen "Hey fam! You look wrecked. Are the tarts done? Ooh, those look sooo cute! Lemme snap a quick pic for Magicam!" you laughed a little at Cater's antics. But Ace was not having it "What, NOW you decide to show up?" Cater shrugged it off "I just came to see how hard my little newbs were working" Cater then swung a arm around your neck "It's tough work if you're not used to it. But there's no better cure for the ails of fatigue than something sweet from the oven! Help yourself to some of this tart." everyone Cheered 

 "YAY!" but Ace was looking at Cater with his eyebrow raised "Pretty funny how you managed to show right when it was ready to eat, Cater." "Heh heh. Someone's gotta be the official taster!" Grim on the other hand just couldn't wait anymore "Mmmm... That smells so good... Glossy chestnuts on top, fluffy cream below... I can't wait another second, I'm going in!" so you all dug in 'oh fucking damn.... this shit is real good'

Apparently everyone thought so "Oh, dang..." Ace was like in Tart heaven. "Yuuum! Liked and subscriiibed!" Cater said but it seemed a little strained "This is like something from a fancy bakery." Deuce said while looking at his piece of tart but Grim, oh Grim had a whole opinion that would make gorden Ramsey look bad   "Rich in flavor, yet not too sweet... It's like chestnuts are dancing across my tongue!"...or not, Trey looked confused at the little cat "Is that... a good thing?" cater nudged Trey and pointed at You "i would say so look" there you were just happily eating in your own little world..until you felt everyone look "what?....is there something on my face?"  they all quickly shook their head and you just shrugged 

"Oh, Trey! You gotta do the thing." Cater said and at first Trey was confused "The thing? Oh... That." now Ace got confused "Uh, wanna fill me in here?" Trey just continued"What's everyone's favorite food?" 'what is this guy planning' First Ace spoke "Me? Probably cherry pie. Or hamburgers." then grim went on a rant "Canned tuna's at the top of my list. Then maybe cheese omelets, roast meat, pudding..." 'that cat loves food wayyy to much....but then again so do i'

"If I had to pick, I guess I'd say... omelet rice?" Deuce said and thanks to that he also stopped Grim's rant about food. "I like a nice lamb chop with diablo sauce." Cater said then they all turned to you "uhhhm...f/f i guess" trey nodded "All right, you've got it... Let's [Doodle suit]!" (okay a little heads up..i am using the official translation where it is 'paint the roses' but fuck that 'Doodle suit' made me laugh so is superior..soo i will be using that through out the story, thank you...hehe doodle..i am a 4 year old at heart) 

"Huh? What does that mean?" Deuce said with a tilt of his head 'okay why does he remind me of a puppy when he does that' Trey pointed at the tart that deuce was holding "Take another bite of your tart and see." Ace took another bite "Huh? How- Now it tastes like cherry pie!" then we all took a bite "It's just like canned tuna! *munch* *munch* Now it tastes like a cheese omelet! And grilled meat! *munch* *munch* And pudding!" you smiled at grim and took a bite yourself...'it hasn't been long but..i missed this' "Neat trick, eh? That's gotta be a hit when Trey's having tea with the ladies. Right Y/n ?" Cater said while winking at you "no doubt Cater." you nodded while still happily munching....what?... its good..good food is good food.
