unexpected encounter (Ch 14+15)

It was late but Grim kept sleep talking keeping you awake "yup imma go take a walk , his sleep talking has me going crazy" you went down stairs and outside. When you were outside you shivered a bit "it's gotten really cold lately, not that i mind" then you saw a few Green fireflies around and a figure came to view "Hm? Who's that over there?" the figure asked you tilted your head "uhm..hello?" The figure hummed "Well, this is a surprise. A child of man, are you?" you chuckled "well yes, last time i checked at least" this causes the figure to slightly smile "Do you live here? I was under the impression that this dorm had been abandoned for some time. I quite enjoy having a place where I could go to enjoy the peace of solitude." you sadly smiled at him "i indeed live here with my dormmate. But may i ask who you are ?" this shocked the figure "Who am I...? You really don't know who I am? Interesting. What is your name?" you smiled "i am Y/n its nice to meet you" the figure put a hand to his chin "Y/n... An unusual name, to be sure. I am... No, never mind. I'd rather you remain unaware" you tilted your head "why?" the figure waved his hand "It's for your own benefit, I assure you. Instead, I will permit you to call me by a name of your choosing. Although you may one day regret it..." you put a hand to your chin 'okay just saying, he is cute but a bit weird..not that is a bad thing thought' the figure sighed "But alas...If you have taken up residence here, then this abandoned dorm is no longer "abandoned." Pity. I shall have to find some other ruins for my next nocturnal constitutional. Farewell." "wait..im sorry to have taken the place you find peace ..but you can come back anytime " the figures eyes widened then smiled "we'll see." he disappeared in a flash and fireflies are in the place where he stood. "he is gone...".

In Leona's room

Ruggie came in with a tray for leona "You must be tired, Leona. I've brought you dinner. And on the way, I got a little "work" done." this caught Gareon's attention and pressed on record per your instructions. Leona smirked at the Hyaena "Always there when I need ya, Ruggie." Ruggie bowed sarcastically "Oh, it's a pleasure to be of service to you, Housewarden." Leona waved him off "You always say that, don't you? Even though you're really doing this for yourself." Ruggie put a hand to his chest and gasped dramatically "Perish the thought, Leona! It's a pleasure to be of service to OUR cause. All of us want to turn the world upside down. That's precisely why the hyenas joined hands with the King of Beasts in the first place—to improve their lot in life forevermore. I'm pretty much doing the same thing." Leona looked at him "Then make sure you're careful on your "hunts." Don't leave any evidence behind." Ruggie laughed "Shyeheehee! You should know how hyenas work. We pick our prey clean to the bone. Incidentally, Leona—any thoughts as to who my next target should be?" Leona smiled "Oh, I've got an idea. How about a little wolf who likes to eavesdrop?" this confused Ruggie a bit "Huh?" Leona looked into the hallway "I know you're there, frosh. No use hiding." Jack came into the room but kept quiet, but his presence caused Leona to raise his eyebrow "And what are YOU doin' up so late? Need someone to sing you a lullaby?" Ruggie laughed "Maybe I'll give it a shot! Shyeheehee!" Jack shook his head with a frown on his face "I want to know why. Why are you two doing this?" Leona sighed

"Huh. So it's a bedtime story you're after. All right, I got one for you. We went up against Malleus's Diasomnia team in round one of the tournament two years running. We were eliminated both times. We got a wall fulla championship trophies, but they ran circles around us like we were still in diapers. And that disgrace was broadcast to the entire world. I looked like an incompetent moron. And now the pro league recruiters, well, they pass right by Savanaclaw." Jack clenched his hands into fists "But that's because we weren't good enough!" Leona nodded "You're right about that. Last year, you could certainly say that we didn't give the tournament our all. Only a total moron would have thought we could win. But that's how naïve we were. We never even came up with a plan or nothin'. And we've got the nerve to claim Savanaclaw honors the tenacity of the King of Beasts! What a joke." Jack lashed out a bit "But that's exactly why acting like cowards and cutting down our opponents is so wrong!" Leona raised a eyebrow ""Wrong," you say? Jack, who do you think I'm doing this for? I'm thinkin' about you and your dormmates here! This is about crushing Malleus and restoring Savanaclaw's reputation! The headmage said if we don't win this year, Malleus is getting inducted into the hall of fame. That means this is our last chance to beat him. And you're gonna throw it away over...what? Some moral superiority complex?"

Jack got taken a back with Leona's statement "But... I..." Leona pointed towards his head "Using your wits to corner your prey is part of the hunt. There's nothing cowardly about it." Ruggie laughed "Shyeheehee! Night Raven operates on the survival of the fittest. Nice guys don't last long here." Jack tried to reason with Leona "But Housewarden, if you got serious about playing, we could actually be a threat to Diasomnia! I saw the way you played three years ago! I'll never forget it!" Leona frowned to the Freshman in front of him "What do YOU know about ANYTHING, frosh?! You want me to "get serious about playing"? Hah! Now you're the one who's naïve. It wouldn't change a thing. Get outta my sight." Jack didn't say anything anymore and just left. Ruggie frowned at the empty doorway "That boy could be a problem. You want me to take care of him?" Leona shook his head "No. Don't. Even if he goes and blabs it all to Crowley, he ain't got a shred of proof. And besides, that'd be a terrible waste of talent. Just make sure you keep an eye on him." Ruggie nodded "Understood." Gareon thought this was enough and wen't back to their seeker to give them the information she wanted. Leona on the other and looked up towards the sky "Tch. Stupid frosh... Talkin' like he's better than me."  

you were still awake when Gareon came back. they gave you the recording device so you smiled at the creature and patted his head "you have done well my friend, thank you" with that Gareon went back to his amulet. you saw Grim sleeping and you did not wanna disturb him so you went down to the lounge. you pressed play on the recording device and sighed once it was done playing.."it is almost like i thought..but i didn't think he would go so far...but there is one good thing, Jack seems to be against Leona, maybe we can get some more information out of him..but it's better if i dont tell anyone i got proof..for now at least..this is gonna be a mess i can feel it.." you put a hand to your forehead. "how am i gonna do this...Dad probably would have had a plan..aah shit now i miss my family even more..." you stood up "welp, worrying about it now is not gonna help..i better just go to bed and try to get some sleep"

its a short Chapter i know, but i rather have the dreams at the start of a chapter because that makes more sense to me. i still hope you enjoyed byee
