Beach House (Percy Jackson/Heros Of Olympus)

Chapter 1- Piper's P.O.V.

-Friday-

We're nearing the end of the driving portion of our trip. Taking turns driving has been our best shot at this, since we want to be just like normal people. That's what I've spent most of my life trying to do anyway, be a normal person. This normal trip to a normal vacation spot is perfect for me and it's really what I needed in my life.

I snuggle up to Jason. He's been driving most of the way here. Us all getting our drivers licenses over time has been quite the journey, but Nico is the only one who refused to do it. He said he would just shadow travel. That's not how we're doing this though. Again, NORMAL PEOPLE.

I'll keep telling myself about how nice this is. The beach is in sight. I'm sure Percy is the most excited for it, but hey, it isn't allowed to be work.

"OH YEAH! I'm so fucking ready!" Leo cheers, "Drive faster."

Frank is anxious enough without Leo's excitement distracting him. I want to shush him, but honestly, it's endearing enough that I just smile. I know I could make him stop if I wanted, but NO POWERS this weekend...not in that way, at least. It's kind of mean.

"Lake lake lake...!" Percy starts cheering from the drivers seat.

"You need to focus, seaweed brain. You have a whole car full of children. Babies on board." Annabeth reminds him, starting to fold the map up since we're so close to our destination.

"Hey, when have I not focused?" Percy shoots a lopsided grin at her. She frowns. "Every single day of your life?"

"Are you okay, Frank?" I ask, feeling bad for him.

"PERFECTLY fine." He says, his voice as high pitched as it gets.

Hazel gently pats his arm. "You'll feel better once we're out of the car."

"I'm ready for it. The drive better be worth it." Jason says.

"It will be! I have never steered you guys wrong!" Percy replies, taking full responsibility for our trip.

I don't even know who had the idea for this. It must have been him...which makes sense.

"We're going to pull a couple all-nighters and go WILD~ You are buying alcohol right Percy?" Leo asks him.

I purse my lips. I don't know if that's a good idea.

"Hell yeah, I will, we're going to go nuts-" Percy starts.

"As long as you're all drinking responsibly!" Annabeth cuts in. "No one's getting hurt on my watch, okay? I'll stay sober for the weekend in case we need a driver at any point."

"I'd kill to see her let loose once." Jason whispers to me.

"Yeah," I agree softly, trying not to persuade anyone at all, "As long as we're safe."

"Let loose blondie, it's alright." Leo says, probably reading our minds or listening in too much.

"Someone has to be the responsible one." She says, looking back at us. "I want to make sure we all make it back to school safe and sound."

"Ew, don't mention school in the summer. We need a swear jar for you, but just for school-related stuff over the trip." Percy suggests.

"We need a swear jar in general for Leo." I say, and Leo sighs very deeply in response.

"And Percy and I can have a joint bad choices jar. It's perfect." Jason says. "We all get a jar, get quarters, and then make this trip stressful."

"Freak yeah." Leo says, "Aha! See? I did it, I didn't curse."
