Jason's P.O.V.

-Saturday-

I walk beside Nico, enjoying the fresh air as we get to the end of our walk.

"Thanks for coming with us." I tell him, glad he isn't just leaving whenever he wants too, now. He hasn't done that since the day he wanted to sleep in and we called Will. I wonder if he's just worried we'll call him again. Probably not, he does what he wants.

I get the urge to hold his hand, but don't, for a couple of reasons. One, he hates being touched and stuff, and two, we are not dating.

"Me? No prob." Percy grins back at me from where he's walking with Hazel, flashing me with that stupid, adorable smile.

I roll my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest. "I was talking to NICO."

"You were? Why?" Nico asks.

"Because, I dunno. I don't know how much you like this kind of thing." I explain.

Maybe this is his favorite thing and I'm being stupid, but I don't think he's usually outside.

"I wasn't about to send Hazel with just you and Percy."

I laugh. "What? Why not, we're all buddies here."

"Yeah, did you forget that Hazel is my best bro?" Percy asks him.

Hazel laughs and nods. Nico glares over at him. "I'm not kidding."

"...! Why don't you trust me?" Percy asks.

Probably because trouble follows him everywhere he goes.

"Is that a real question? Why I wouldn't trust you with my sister...?"

Percy is a player, honestly. I'd never expect him to do something with Hazel, though.

"I don't know, she seems like she can take care of herself." Percy shrugs.

"I'm here too." I point out.

"Mhm." Nico sighs.

"...It's alright," Hazel says, "How long do you guys want to stay out?"

"I'm open to going forever." Percy says.

"Or, we just go a little while longer. Why, do you have something you're doing when you get back?" I ask her.

"No. I was just wondering if you're open to an adventure."

"Always? What's going on?" Percy asks.

That's concerning. I look around, checking for monsters.

"There's something underground here."

I stop, watching her. "Like a monster...?" I ask warily.

"I'm not sure. It could be, but there's also some...treasures."

Percy perks up. "We gotta find them?! That's so cool. What if it's buried pirate treasure?"

"Please, this isn't a movie." I scoff.

"We fight monsters on the daily, JASON. YOUR DAD IS Jupiter!"

"That has nothing to do with this!"

"Maybe we should avoid risking being around monsters right now." Nico says.

"We're attracting them either way. I think it would be easy to get the buried stuff." Hazel says, "We don't have to. That's why I asked. There's a cave opening nearby, so I don't think it's buried treasure but probably some stuff someone left behind."
