Meanwhile

The girls walk back inside where the Russos are waiting for them. "Did Paul and Derek leave already?" Asked Alex. "Uh-huh." Said Odette. "We'll be praying for them too." Said Justin. "Thanks." Said Amanda. "So, how will we get to Metropolis without getting ransacked by bombs?" Asked Max.

Amanda puts up a finger and talks into her wrist communicator. "Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, can you guys read me?" She asked. "Loud and clear, Amanda, over." Said Superman. "First off, we're not having a villain problem, but England is at war and we need somewhere to stay until it's safe enough to come home." Amanda said. "Hera, that's not good!" Said Wonder Woman. "Odette and the Russos will be joining me, by the way." Said Amanda. "What about Derek and Paul?" Asked Batman.

No words come out of Amanda's mouth for a minute. "They're... fighting in the war." She said finally. "Good lord!" Superman cried. "Derek I can understand, because he's been in a ton of battles. But Paul, I never would've thought he'd think about fighting in a war." Amanda said. "Neither did we, but at least he's been trained." Batman said. "By you three, yeah." Said Amanda. "Alright, we'll help you five get settled when you arrive." Wonder Woman said. "Thank you so much, all of you." Amanda said.

The line disconnects afterwards. "Well?" Justin said. "We're all set." Said Amanda. "Great, but we can't go out there while guns are going off and explosions are shaking up the joint." Alex said. "Good thing I have this." Amanda said as she held up her magic paintbrush. "Amanda, where did you get that?" Odette asked. "It just came to me one night. The cool thing about it is it can create anything I think of." Said Amanda. "Don't fret, Odette, it's perfectly safe." Max said.

Amanda walks over to the spot on the wall where she painted Metropolis the last time. "We can even walk through the paintings, which is even cooler." Said Alex. "Wow! It's not every day people can walk through walls. Well, Scully does it all the time." Said Odette. "Who's Scully?" Asked Max. "An animal friend of ours, he's a flying squirrel." Amanda said. "And he goes through walls on a regular basis?" Asked Justin. "Yes, he's a ghost. He died after sacrificing himself to defeat the Forbidden Arts. But at least he's still with us from the afterlife." Odette said. The Russos nod understandingly.

It was time to go enter Metropolis, so the four adventurers and Odette enter the painting, arriving within seconds. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were already waiting for them. "You finally made it!" Said Wonder Woman. "Just in the nick of time too, we finished getting your rooms ready." Said Superman. "Will we get our own separate rooms?" Max asked. "Almost. Max, you, Justin, and Alex will be in one room, while Amanda and Odette take the other." Said Batman. "I can live with that." Justin said. "Me too." Alex said.

The three superheroes lead the five to the rooms they'll be staying in until the war is over. "Thanks, you three." Said Odette. "We'll be around if you need anything." Superman said. "I might take a nap, because I'm kinda exhausted." Said Amanda. With that, the heroes let Amanda and her group take it easy for the time being.
