Guerra de Amor

War

As the four adventurers began making their way home, the sound of an explosion makes them jump. "Sweet mother of Chamberg! What was that?" Asked Amanda. "Uh, guys? Look to the sky." Said Alex. She points up as the others notice a bunch of airplanes flying. There were even a number of explosions in the sky, including bombs falling from the planes. "This can't be good. What could be happening for all this to occur?" Asked Max. "It's a war! Everybody to the bomb shelter!" Cried Justin.

"We have a bomb shelter here?" Alex asked. "Come on already!" Justin said as he grabbed his sister's arm. Behind the apartment is a tiny house, which happens to be the bomb shelter Justin mentioned. After the four adventurers rush inside, they start panting. "Why is a war happening?" Max asked. His siblings shrug their shoulders. Once they finally caught their breath, they noticed they weren't the only ones inside the shelter. Amanda's family is also taking cover in it. 

"You lot heard all that too?" Asked Paul. "Just now, actually." Said Max. "Derek and Odette, how long have you two been here before the noise?" Asked Justin. "About a minute before you got back. Paul mentioned the bomb shelter and led us to it." Said Odette. "Ah. Glad to see you're still in one piece, all three of you." Said Alex. "Funny, I was about to say the same thing about the four of you." Said Derek.

The four adventurers laugh nervously. "Anyway, we came by after a very long meeting at the Council of Crowns and needed a distraction." Odette said. "Things were going smoothly until that explosion occurred." Derek said. "Sure wish we knew why a war is happening." Paul said.

The bomb shelter has two windows, and Amanda looks through one of them. "Guys, you might wanna come look at this." She said. The Russos look out the same window as Amanda, while Paul, Derek, and Odette look through the other one. "A bunch of men with rifles." Justin said. "And I could swear I see searchlights in the distance." Max said. "How long will this war last?" Alex asked. "One thing's for sure, they don't last forever, thank goodness." Amanda said.

"Someone needs to get out there and protect our country, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do." Said Paul. Everyone looks at him with shocked expressions. "What?" Paul said. "Are you insane?! Do you know how dangerous it is?!" Asked Justin in shock. "Justin, are you aware that a bunch of men here leave their homes to protect not just their country, but their loved ones?" Asked Alex. "Somebody was paying attention." Said Max.

"Uh-uh, you are not going out there alone." Said Derek. "Derek, what are you saying?" Asked Paul. "I'm saying that I'm gonna fight for England as well." Derek said. "What?!" Said Odette in shock. "It's not safe for any of you to be here during this war." Said Derek. "We'll be safe in the bomb shelter, no sweat." Justin said. "I'm serious, you need to get out of here." Derek said. "But where will we go?" Odette asked. "I know just the place." Said Amanda.
