THE WAY BACK HOME

Where is the way back home?

These roads I have countlessly roamed

But all to no avail

No matter how much I travail

Is it left or right?

I know there should be a light

But the way is dark and perilous

The monsters trailing there, ferocious

Eventually, I chose a path

Not knowing or sure of the aftermath

But of course, it was wrong

The result of a sinner's song

Repercussions for a sin I unknowingly committed

I am not sure if my punishment will ever be remitted

But if the Creator is merciful

He saved this soul, even when unfruitful

Another chance I have been given

By words of mercy spoken

But with my soul uncovered

Somewhere along this journey, I discovered

Even if given a lamp

And alongside, a map

I still cannot tell with this poem

The Way Back Home.
