Last shift they got the news Kelly and Stella have to go to a training course for lieutenants in Milwaukee this weekend so Kelly decided to call and see if Jennifer could keep the kids for them since it was his weekend with TJ and Stella didn't have anyone to call unfortunately Jennifer was unavailable as this Sunday was the opening of another one of her ministries so they decided to call Violet and Gallo and they agreed to watch them for the weekend. Trips like this Stella and Kelly wish they could take the boys with them but they are also happy to have this time just them as well besides at training.
They will be leaving tomorrow afternoon after getting the kids to Gallo and Violet so they decided tonight after the kids go to bed they'll pack all of their bags and put it in the jeep so it'll be ready to go. That night they played cops and robbers, hide and seek, tag, and Jenga with the boys. The laughs that were coming from their family night made Stella and Kelly wish they could freeze time right there to just always be that happy. Stella was scared to leave Billy as he's never been a night away from her besides shift nights when he typically goes to Cindy and Hermanns and especially with the issues he was battling at the moment she really felt guilty but also understood she has no choice.
As bedtime came for the boys TJ went right to sleep as Kelly was reading him a bedtime story so Kelly put the book back on the bookshelf, tucked him in, and give him a kiss goodnight before heading out to find Stella and Billy confused as to why they weren't in there. He found them in his and Stellas bed "Hes to scared to sleep alone tonight and wants me to lay with him do you want us to sleep in here or in his bed because I fit good in there to sleep comfortably " Stella asked Kelly as he walked in "no no don't go sleep in there y'all can just stay right there there's plenty of room for us all to sleep in here. Are you going to help pack or do I need to do that real quick" Kelly asked Stella "if you wouldn't mind packing yours and the boys I'll get mine in the morning and sorry in advance for having you do all this alone" Stella replied "it's fine no big deal I truly don't mind I understand when parenthood calls you need to answer" Kelly said with a smile "I'll be back in here after I get the boys packed" he said as he headed out and went back into the boys room to pack them their clothes, stuffed animals, blankets, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a few toys to play with before he headed down to take those to the Jeep then he went back up to pack his bag before brushing his teeth and going to bed. Once he got into their bedroom he looked over at the bed to find Stella and Billy were both out so he decided to just brush his teeth and wait till tomorrow to do his own bag. He turned off the bedside lamps before climbing into bed and resting his arm around Billy and Stella as it sat on her hip
The next morning before school Stella got up with the boys and made breakfast before going to wake Kelly up so they could take the boys to school and go fill up with gas so they don't have to stop on the way to Milwaukee later. They dropped the boys off and stopped for gas then Stella decided she wanted some coffee so they turned around and went to get her one at Starbucks then headed home
Once they got home they packed their bags before loading them up into the jeep. They wanted a clean house to come back to as well so Kelly and Stella agreed for Kelly to get the living room, boys bathroom ,and kitchen while Stella would get their bathroom, bedroom, and boys bedroom they will wait to get the laundry room once they get home from their trip. Once all was done it was lunch time and they both wanted some steak so they headed to Fioretta Steak to grab some before heading to get the boys from school and dropping them to Gallo and Violet. The boys were so eager to tell them how their school days were and what they learned they almost didn't know what to do with themselves.
After getting to Gallo and Violets Stella got the boys out and headed inside with them as Kelly grabbed the boys bags and headed inside. Once inside he sat the bags down before him and Stella sat down in the living room with them to chit chat before hitting the road. They told them what the boys schedules are, some of their favorite foods, what to do when/if they get upset, and if they need to just call them for anything. Stella also had a side conversation with Billy assuring him they would be back. They kissed the boys bye and headed on their way
