No requester this time

Katie's POV:

That's it. I was used to The Stoll's pranks, but this time, they had gone too far. How could they? I was already having a bad day, first, I got knocked into the lake by a satyr who was chasing a nymph, then, I got grazed by an arrow and had to go to the infirmary. But the icing on the cake was when I was taking a shower and my shampoo turned my hair orange. And not just any orange, neon orange.

I got dressed quickly and stormed out of my cabin. I saw Connor and Travis snickering and taking pictures by the outskirts of the strawberry  fields. I ran over to them. Travis busted out laughing at the look on my face. I was going to strangle him.

"What in Hades is wrong with you two!?! You stupid, brainless, ugly, rude, brats!!" I screamed.

I didn't know why I was so emotional, but I just couldn't today. My head was throbbing and my throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton. The grass around the Stoll's started clawing at their feet and latching onto the hem of their socks. The strawberry bushes were starting to lean towards the Stoll's. Travis looked hurt by my words, but quickly hid it with a smirk and chuckle. He leaned forward and played with my hair. I slapped his hand walked away.

My walk turned into a jog, then a full on sprint. I ran towards the forest. I didn't stop running once I got there, I just kept running and running, eventually I had to stop and catch my breath. I rested against the trunk of a tree. I felt tears form in my eyes. I looked like a clown, my hair was the color of a glow in the dark carrot! I shouldn't have been so emotional, but I couldn't stop myself from being emotional which frustrated me.

I heard a branch snap and my eyes shot open. I sprang to my feet, swiping hastily at my eyes and put my fists up.

"Hey," it was Travis. "It's me kit-kat, please don't hit me." He whispered softly.

I put my fists down and he stepped closer. He pulled me into a hug. I would never admit but it made me feel a bit better. He ran his left hand through my hair while he rubbed my back with the right one. Why was he comforting me now? Why do this to me and then try to make me feel better right after? It didn't make sense. Travis didn't make sense. I didn't make sense. He kept rubbing my back and running his hand through my hair. My neon orange hair.

"Fix it. Fix it now." I mumbled into his shoulder.

He chuckled softly, pulling a vial out of his pocket. It was filled with sludge, I couldn't decide what color it was, it reminded me of the Aphrodite children's eyes, constantly shifting colors. He poured it in my hair. I braced myself for the cold liquid feeling dripping down my shoulders, but it never came. It felt warm and I didn't feel any liquid or sludge, it was like my hair absorbed it. No doubt this was some sort of collaboration between the Stoll's, Hecate campers and maybe Leo. My hair was brown again, that's all that mattered right now.

I hugged him tighter. I wanted to ask him why He'd done it, but I had a sneaking suspicion I knew. So, to test my theory, I looked up at him, stood on my tip toes and leaned in. When we were an inch apart I paused to see what he would do. Rather than pulling back he closed the distance between us. His lips tasted like summer, in a weird way. Like the warm sun and the gentle breeze, or the campfire when we all sang weird camp songs with twisted lyrics in sweet, upbeat tones. It tasted like home and happiness. Like a dream come true.

And that, is how I got my first kiss, and the only one better was the one me and Travis shared on our wedding day.
