"you alright mate?" i say, putting the snacks and drinks for movie night on the counter. the cashier nods at me and starts scanning them all. i hear mason giggle behind me so i turn to look at him. "what?"

he struggled at first because he can't stop himself laughing, but he gets it out eventually, "mate." he copies my accent before giggling again. i deadpan  and look at him blankly.

"calm down bro," i say in his accent before turning around and laughing to myself. he literally punched my shoulder, making me turn around and smack him back.

we were literally about to get in a physical fight when the cashier clears his throat. we turn at look at him like deers in headlights as he said "that's £10.56." with an angry grunt.

i had to stop myself from laughing as i put down a ten pound note and rummage around my bag for the change. i put down a pound coin and the man behind the counter let out a huff as he searched the cash register for the change.

mason letting out little giggles behind me was making it practically impossible for me to shut up, but i tried my best. "cheers," i laughed at the cashier's scowl as he gave me the change.

we walked out of the store and as soon as the door clanged shut behind us we burst out laughing uncontrollably until we're breathless on the floor with tears coming out of our eyes. when we can, we pick ourselves up off of the floor and get back into mason's car.

as we're driving off i see the cashier give us a dirty look through the window of the shop. we sit in comfortable silence as we reach a red light and all i can think about is the pissed off cashier's expression. "HIS FACE!" i blurt out, and suddenly we're crying with laughter again.

"hey we should go back just to piss him off more." and with one look between us, we know we're about to get in trouble. so mason makes a u-turn when he can and we drive back to the store.

"alright mate? just these," as i put some random shit we picked up from different aisles onto the counter. he slowly looks up from our items to our faces and he just deadpans us. this time nothing stops me and mason from laughing in his face.
