summary: your perfect morning with mason gets interrupted
genre: fluff
warnings: none

it was oddly perfect when i woke up this morning: the world was quiet and the sun gave the room a golden morning glow. "morning," mason's gravelly voice spoke gently in my ear and i turned around to face him, smiling. i moved a stray curl away from his face and he gave me a small smile.

"morning, how'd you sleep?" i asked, he groaned instead of answering which made me laugh. "that bad, huh?" mason chuckled.

"no, i just love your morning voice," he smirked as he pulled me closer; making it impossible to decide whether to blush, scream or cry. i hid my face in his chest and felt his body rise and fall as he laughed.

i told him "don't laugh at me, i'll fight you." but he only laughed harder, so i grabbed both his wrists and turned us over, i held his hands beside his head on the pillow as i hovered over him. by the look on his face, i don't think mason knew whether to blush or be impressed. he stuttered over his words which eventually made the both of us laugh.

"for the record, i love your morning voice too." i smirked down at him before leaning down for a kiss. "and i mean, i love you anyway."

he kisses me again, "i love you too." the next kiss lasts a little bit longer.

unfortunately, this oddly perfect morning was not to be a perfect day.

"oh! uh- i'll come back later then-" my mum's voice sounded from behind me and my face immediately fell. let me tell you i have never turned around so quick in my life.

"mum, wait-" but she'd already closed the door. i sat down near the end of the bed, horrified at what had just happened. mason came around and sat next to me, rubbing my back gently.

"it's okay don't worry," but i was already worrying the second i heard her voice so it was a bit late for that. i pushed my face into his shoulder and squinted my eyes trying to rid myself of the memory. what i would give for one of those remote things they have in men in black.

"we should probably go apologise before she tells anyone else," mason says, breaking the silence. i look up at his face and see he isn't as embarrassed as i am which made me more stressed. "hey, it happens, we'll be laughing about it in like three days."

i sigh and stand up, chuckling slightly. "go put a shirt on."
