Chapter Sixteen

Rosalie, still beaming with happiness from the previous night's revelations, found herself contemplating how to spend the day with August and Angelina. With the school undergoing renovations, they had a rare week off and Rosalie wanted to make the most of it. Lost in her thoughts, a knock on the door interrupted her musings, and she eagerly answered it to find Angelina and August standing there.

"Hi, come on in," she greeted, moving aside to let them enter. As they settled in the living room, August couldn't help but inquire about their plans for the day.

"So, what's the game plan, guys?" August asked, taking a seat on the couch.

Rosalie joined him, her mind still racing with possibilities. "I've been thinking about that," she replied, sitting down next to him.

Angelina chimed in with a suggestion, "How about we go on a hike? It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors."

Rosalie wrinkled her nose, not quite sold on the idea. "Nah, that sounds boring," she declared, searching for a more thrilling option.

Suddenly, an idea sparked in August's mind. "Let's go play some laser tag!" he exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with excitement.

Angelina's face instantly brightened with delight. "Ooo, that sounds like a blast!" she exclaimed, already imagining the exhilaration of an intense laser battle.

Rosalie couldn't help but let out a giggle, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Laser tag it is, then!" she agreed enthusiastically, thrilled at the prospect of spending the day in an epic battle of light beams and adrenaline.

The trio wasted no time in getting ready for their adventure. They quickly changed into comfortable clothes and sneakers, eager to immerse themselves in the world of laser tag. As they piled into August's car, they couldn't contain their excitement, exchanging playful banter and teasing each other about who would emerge victorious.

With the music blasting, they sang along to their favorite tunes, their voices merging into a chorus of laughter and joy. The car ride was filled with contagious energy, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and anticipation. Rosalie couldn't help but notice how August's eyes sparkled with mischief, matching Angelina's infectious grin.

As they arrived at the laser tag arena, they were welcomed by the dimly lit room, adorned with neon lights and black walls to enhance the laser tag experience. The sound of futuristic music filled the air, adding to the anticipation building within them.

August led the way to the counter, purchasing tickets for each of them. "Three for the ultimate laser battle," he declared, passing the money to the attendant with a mischievous grin.

With their gear in hand, they suited up in the designated vests and headsets, ready to face off against each other. Rosalie couldn't help but crack a smile at the sight of August struggling to properly put on his vest, while Angelina looked surprisingly fierce, ready to unleash her competitive side.

As they entered the arena, their senses heightened. The landscape was filled with obstacles, from towering walls to maze-like structures. The glow of lasers illuminated the room, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The excitement was palpable as the game began.

"May the best warrior win!" Angelina declared, her voice echoing through the room.

Rosalie and August nodded, determination etched onto their faces. They sprinted into action, strategizing their moves, ducking and diving to avoid enemy fire. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter, shouts, and the occasional whoop of victory.

As the game progressed, a fierce competitiveness took over, but it was all in good fun. They couldn't help but exchange playful taunts and loud bursts of laughter, giving away their positions in the process.

At one point, Rosalie managed to sneak up on August, tagging him with her laser gun. He dramatically fell to the ground, pretending to be defeated. "You got me, Rosalie!" he exclaimed, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

Angelina, seizing the opportunity, swooped in from behind and tagged Rosalie, securing her victory. "Ha, got you too!" she exclaimed triumphantly.

The game ended with laughter and high fives, each of them relishing in the adrenaline rush that the intense battle had brought them. Rosalie couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for her friends, who had brought so much joy and excitement into her life.

As they exited the arena, their faces flushed with exhilaration, they couldn't stop talking about their favorite moments and strategizing for their next laser tag adventure. The day had been a perfect blend of friendship, competition, and pure, unadulterated fun.

Once they were back at Rosalie's house she whipped them up some sandwiches and made iced tea. Which was very much needed after their laser tag competition.

"I think today has been one of my favorite days yet," Angelina says drinking her iced tea.

"Yeah it was so fun playing against you guys," August agreed taking a bite of his sandwich.

Rosalie smiled, her heart filled with gratitude for the incredible day they had just shared. "I feel the same way," she replied, savoring each bite of her sandwich. "It's moments like these that make me realize how lucky I am to have you both in my life."

Angelina nodded, her eyes sparkling with warmth and affection. "We feel the same way about you, Rosalie," she said, reaching over to give her friend a gentle squeeze on the hand. "You've brought so much joy and happiness into our lives, and we're grateful for every moment we get to spend with you."

August chimed in, his voice heartfelt. "Absolutely. It's incredible how much stronger our bond has grown over time, and I'm incredibly grateful for both of you."

The air was filled with a sense of peace and contentment as they sat together, basking in the warmth of their friendship. At that moment, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would always have each other's backs.
