Today August was going to take Rosalie out on a date because they hadn't been on one in a while. Rosalie danced around her room to the music she had blasting in the background. Angelina came over because Rosalie needed her opinion on what outfit to wear.
"I honestly don't know why you need my help," Angelina states.
"You know I'm an indecisive person so I just want to make sure that I look good in my outfit," Rosalie explained turning down the music.
"Rose you could wear a trash bag and August will still love you," Angelina reminds her.
"Just help me out please," Rosalie begs.
"Fine I help you sit down while I pick out your outfit," Angelina says getting off the bed.
"Thank you you're the best," Rosalie says hugging her.
Angelina turned up the music again and raided Rosalie's closet looking for something to wear. The only thing August told her was to dress up comfortably. For a guy and some girls, it might be easy to find something but for Rosalie, it isn't that easy.
A few minutes later Angliena found the perfect outfit for Rosalie and she sent her to change in the bathroom. Once she changed into the clothes Angelina sat her down at her vanity and started doing her hair. Wanting to keep it simple Angliena curled her beautiful ginger hair. As she finished her final touches on Rosalie's makeup the doorbell rang.
"He's here already?" Rosalie asked.
"I guess so," Angelina says putting away the things.
Rosalie slipped on her leather jacket that August brought her a while back and grabbed her purse.
"Tell me everything when you get back I'll be right here housesitting," Angelina requested.
"Don't worry I will," Rosalie promised hugging her.
Rosalie walked downstairs and stepped out of the house and spotted August leaning against his black truck scrolling on his phone. She walked up to him and waited for him to notice her.
"Hey gorgeous," he says pocketing his phone.
"Hi handsome," she replied wrapping her arms around his neck while his hands gripped her waist.
"So are you going to tell me where we're going?" she asked.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you," he answered.
"Touché," she says pecking his lips.
"Let's get going," he says opening the door for her.
"Thank you, my love," she says getting in the car.
"You're welcome gorgeous," he replied shutting the door.
The ride to their first destination didn't take too long. They were going to the diner just to have something to eat before August took them to the next spot. As August parked his truck he got out and went to open the door for Rosalie.
Hand in hand the couple walked into the diner and sat in a booth in the back away from everyone else. After they ordered their food Rosalie and August were talking to each other in a terrible accent. A few minutes later their milkshakes and basket of fries were placed on the table.
"I have a joke for you," August says eating a fry.
"Oh no," Rosalie smiles sipping her milkshake.
"What do you call a bear with no teeth?" he asked.
"I don't know what?" she asked.
"A gummy bear," he answers.
Rosalie laughed a bit coughing on her milkshake. She pushed the cup away and whipped her mouth.
"Okay I wasn't laughing because it was funny but because that was such a terrible dad joke," she explained.
"I still made you laugh so I'm taking that as a win," he says.
As they finished eating August kept telling bad jokes making Rosalie shake her head at how terrible her boyfriend's jokes were. August paid the bill even though Rosalie wanted to pay for it and August took them to another destination.
August surprised Rosalie by taking her to a drive-in movie theater. Rosalie's eyes sparkled with delight as they pulled up to the entrance.
"A drive-in? I haven't been to one of these in years!" she exclaimed, excitement evident in her voice.
August smiled, pleased with her reaction. "I thought it would be a fun and nostalgic way to spend the evening together."
They found a good spot to park, and August set up the back of his truck making it nice and comfortable. They snuggled together under a blanket, as they watched the movie, occasionally sharing a bag of popcorn and stealing kisses during the romantic scenes.
The night air was filled with the soft glow of the screen, the distant hum of other moviegoers, and the warmth of their shared company. It was a simple yet perfect moment, and as the movie played on, Rosalie couldn't help but feel grateful for this time with August.
When the movie was over August drove them to their final destination. The car ride there was silent, not an awkward silence but a nice and peaceful silence.
"August I just want to say that this night has been so magical and that I love you," Rosalie states breaking the silence.
"It was no problem I would do anything to make sure my girl enjoys the date," August responded placing his hand on her thigh.
He parked the truck and got a blanket out of the trunk along with a basket.
As they walked through a dimly lit park, August led Rosalie to a spot underneath a giant oak tree. He lay down the blanket on the grass and motioned for her to join him. Rosalie's eyes widened with curiosity as she glanced at the basket, wondering what surprises he had in store for her.
With a mischievous smile, August opened the basket and revealed a spread of delicious snacks and treats. There were sandwiches, a variety of cheeses, fresh fruits, and a bottle of sparkling cider. Rosalie couldn't help but giggle with delight at the thoughtfulness of it all.
"This is amazing, August!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with gratitude.
He chuckled and poured them each a glass of sparkling cider. "I wanted to create another memory for us, something we could look back on and cherish," he said, his voice filled with warmth.
As they indulged in their picnic feast, they shared stories, laughter, and stolen kisses. The night sky twinkled above them, and the sounds of nature surrounded them, creating a blissful ambiance. Rosalie felt overwhelmed with happiness, her heart overflowing with love for August.
"I have one more surprise for you," August finally said, reaching into his pocket.
Rosalie's eyes widened as he pulled out a small red velvet box. Her heart fluttered with anticipation as he opened it to reveal a beautiful promise ring, glimmering in the moonlight.
"Rosalie, these past months with you have been the most incredible journey of my life," August began, his voice filled with sincerity. "You've brought so much joy, love, and laughter into my life. You've become my best friend, my confidante, and my soulmate. I want to promise you that I am fully committed to us, and our future together. Will you accept this promise ring as a symbol of my love and devotion to you?"
Tears welled up in Rosalie's eyes as she looked at August, her heart bursting with love. She couldn't find the words to express her emotions, so she simply nodded, her hand reaching out for him to slip the ring onto her finger.
August gently held her hand, his eyes locked with hers. "I promise to always love and cherish you, to support and stand by you in good times and bad. You are my everything, Rosalie."
Overwhelmed with emotions, Rosalie threw her arms around August, pulling him into a tight embrace. "I love you so much, August," she whispered against his chest.
They stayed in each other's arms, reveling in the beauty of the moment and the promises they had made to one another. As they lay under the stars, August and Rosalie knew that their love was something truly special, and they were ready to face whatever adventures life had in store for them, hand in hand.
