Rosalie woke up feeling a sense of dread for the day ahead. Even though it was Wednesday, the start of school, she couldn't shake off her dislike for it. As she got out of bed, she couldn't help but wonder if August had already left. Slowly changing into her clothes, she made her way downstairs to the kitchen.
To her surprise, August was busy at the stove, preparing pancakes. Lost in his own thoughts, he didn't notice Rosalie approaching him until she wrapped her arms around him. Being shorter than him, she leaned her head against his back. Feeling her presence, August turned around and affectionately kissed her forehead.
"Good morning, my love," he greeted her, looking into her eyes.
Rosalie replied with a gentle peck on his lips, "Morning, baby.
August smiled at Rosalie's affectionate gesture and continued flipping the pancakes. "I made your favorite, chocolate chip pancakes. Thought it might brighten up your morning," he said, pouring batter onto the griddle.
Rosalie's face lit up with delight. "You always know how to make me feel better," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. She leaned against the counter, watching August cook with a fond smile on her face.
August glanced at Rosalie and chuckled softly. "Well, it's the least I can do for my favorite girl," he replied, flipping another pancake. "Plus, I happen to like the feeling of making you happy."
Rosalie blushed, feeling her heart flutter at his words. They had been together for almost a month, and she fell increasingly in love with him. every day "I'm so lucky to have you," she murmured, reaching over to steal a chocolate chip from the bowl.
August smirked, giving her a mock scowl. "Hey, hands off! Those are for the pancakes," he teased, playfully swatting her hand away.
She let out a playful laugh and took a step back, pretending to sulk. "Fine, I'll just have to wait for the finished product then," Rosalie replied, pouting her lips dramatically.
August couldn't help but chuckle, his eyes filled with adoration. He loved these little moments of lighthearted banter with Rosalie, they always made the mornings brighter. "Patience, my love. It won't be much longer," he reassured her, flipping the pancakes onto a plate.
As August plated the pancakes, Rosalie couldn't resist sneaking another chocolate chip. She quickly popped it into her mouth, grinning mischievously at August. "You can't blame me for wanting a taste," she said, trying to hide her amusement.
August shook his head in mock exasperation, handing her a fork. "I suppose I can't," he sighed dramatically, joining in the playful act. "But just remember, the pancakes are the real prize here."
Rosalie took a bite of the pancake, savoring its delicious flavor. "Mmm, you truly are a master chef," she declared, her eyes sparkling with delight.
August grinned, pleased with her reaction. "Well, I try my best. Now, eat up. We have a big day ahead of us, and I want to make sure my girl starts it off with a full stomach," he said, sitting down at the kitchen table.
Rosalie joined him, stealing occasional glances at August as they ate their pancakes. The dread she had felt earlier began to fade away, replaced by warmth and love. She was grateful for moments like these, where even the simplest gestures from August could make everything seem better.
After they finished their meal, Rosalie leaned over and kissed August on the cheek. "Thank you for being here for me, always. You make the mornings brighter," she said genuinely, her voice filled with love.
August smiled, his heart swelling with affection. "I'll always be here for you, my love. No matter what," he replied, intertwining his fingers with hers. "Now, let's face the day together, shall we?"
Rosalie nodded, her worries momentarily forgotten. With August by her side, she knew she could tackle anything that came her way. They shared one last lingering look, finding solace and strength in each other's eyes, before getting up and heading out the door, ready to take on the day together.
As they stepped outside, the morning air greeted them with a cool breeze. Rosalie couldn't help but smile as she felt August's warm hand slip into hers, their fingers intertwining naturally. They walked side by side down the path, the sunlight filtering through the trees, casting a golden glow on their surroundings.
As they reached the end of the street, Rosalie turned to August, a playfulness in her eyes. "Race you to school?" she challenged a mischievous grin on her face.
August chuckled and nodded, his competitive nature coming to the surface. "You're on," he replied, the excitement evident in his voice.
With that, they took off running, their laughter filling the air. The worries and dread of the day ahead faded away as they engaged in this playful and carefree moment. It was a reminder of why they were so drawn to each other, why their love seemed to deepen with each passing day.
They raced through the streets, their footsteps echoing, their hearts pounding with adrenaline. Rosalie could feel the wind whipping through her hair, the thrill of the race propelling her forward. But what made the race truly special was not reaching the finish line first, but the feeling of togetherness as they ran side by side, laughing and cheering each other on.
Eventually, they reached the school gates, breathless but exhilarated. Rosalie looked at August, her eyes sparkling with joy. "You won," she admitted with a grin, a hint of competitiveness still lingering.
August chuckled and shook his head. "Doesn't matter who won, as long as we did it together," he replied, pulling her into a tight embrace. They stood there for a moment, catching their breaths, their bodies entwined in a warm embrace.
As the bell rang, signaling the start of classes, Rosalie squeezed August's hand and looked into his eyes. "No matter what happens today, I know we'll get through it together," she said, her voice filled with determination.
August smiled, his gaze filled with unwavering love and support. "Always," he whispered, his voice filled with conviction.
Hand in hand, they stepped into the bustling halls of the school, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. No matter what the day had in store, they knew that as long as they had each other, they would find strength, love, and unity.
